::shrugs:: It's not good to be too pessemisstic, neither is it good to be too optimistic.
I agree with that 100% and I am unanimous in that!
Yin & Yang good and bad it's all around us I look at both sides of the spectrum it's not bad to talk about either of them, regardless of what some may think.
The world would be a much easier place to live and less annoying if people realized not everything is going to be super great or super bad some things are simply just in the middle.
And forcing others to see, be and so the things the way you do or want only causes fights and wars in many cases.
This world belongs to everyone and everyone comes from differnt lives and cultures.

I guess what I mean is, it's not good to assume something will go wrong all the time because you could miss out on a lot.

On the other hand, it's not good to assume something will go right all the time because sometimes you need to recognize when things are wrong and work to fix them.

Ever since I started to read most of the parts that I missed, I started talking like Beaker.

But when I heard that the EM, especially Dr. Teeth, got speaking parts, I SCREAMED!

Haven't watched the promos yet, but I'll bet that they'd be awesome! Now I can't wait for the special!

Rock 'n roll!

It's times like this when a good Jim Henson quote needs to be whipped out...

"I know I drive some people crazy with what seems like ridiculous optimism, but it has always worked for me."

That quote is why I keep my ridiculous optimism going. Thanks Jim.
I thought of that the moment I read the comment you're responding to.

Honestly, ridiculous optimism is a good way to live. Being pescimistic (sic) is such a downer... I try to be generally optimistic... not that I really succeed in it.

General optimism is great, and even pessimissim is from time to time. It's the extremes of either one that can cause problems. Basically I think the two concepts should work together hand in hand, I think that would improve a lot of things.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know there were a bunch of commercials for this special on the Disney Channel tonight during the first showing of the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus 3-D Concert. It should have had quite a few viewers, so hopefully lots of people will tune in next week. (Yes I watched the concert because I love Hannah Montana. Cheesy but entertaining and great for families to watch.)

I believe in a more pragmatic optimism: If you don't know things are going to be horrible why expect them to be so? It's more along the lines of Fox Mulder's "I want to believe" mantra rather than some perky blind faith. Mix that sentiment with how a child sees possibilities and that's how I see Jim Henson's optimism too.

It is my every hope that this special will be good. The Muppets have been sharp lately. They are invading YouTube, maintaining their own signature site, making a few appearances, releasing classic DVDs, have a few more interesting products out and soon, with the help of a currently hot creative fan, the world of film once again. All their bases seem to be covered except for the younger set and this appears to be the best way.

Studio DC is not only using the Muppets - they are using a wide variety of classic characters. I like Johnny, Sal, Bobo and even Clifford, but except for Pepe (a given) the core characters are the only ones here. The founding Mayhem too! This is a bridge for younger viewers to check out The Muppet Shows and films by lacing this introduction with Disney tween icons. As long as the Muppets aren’t lobotomized it’ll be great.

Regarding the classic characters being used, i think its for the best really as there will be a lot of people touched by Disneys mass marketing that probably haven't seen anything "Muppet" since MCC/MTI so they wouldn't know what Muppets Tonight was. Also with Sal being Brian Henson and Clifford being Clash it may be that they don't have the kinda access to these Muppeteers they did while under Henson ownership, although it might be possible sometimes.
