Well the Muppets have been doing shows underground Studio DC for years! They just didnt want to tape it because they just wanted like to get back in the groove. :zany:

Anyways about Animal, so what if he's saying "BLING BLING." I mean back in the 60's they did topical references, same with the 70's,80's,90's where some of the phrases could be out of date. So WHY are people complaining about Animal saying "Bling! Bling!" Thats just a little ridiculous, its not like he's rapping west coast style. Or just talking about all the honeys he gets in a daily night.
My sentaments exactly.

Because those terms from those periods are still used by people today.
Bling Bling will not be because it's made the fickle brain dead rapper market who come up with new slang terms every week and then they move on.
That's a huge problem with the destruction of the culture in our country, everythings flashing by so quickly and being dumbed down.

Plus, it's the worst piece of slang ever, and it's been used by so many unfunny 50 year old white guys trying to look hip. Someone said it best when they reviewed the movie RV... someone needs to tell people that it's NO LONGER FUNNY to be an old white guy trying to act like a gangsta rapper to try to talk to the younger generation. And that sounds like what kind of writing we're getting. I could over look everything else... but for the love of Pete... No More Bling Blings EVER! (points for anyone who gets the Mommy Dearest reference).

Well I think that's a good point, but from where I'm sitting, pop culture has changed a bit in recent years and become more jaded and shallow and Bling Bling doesn't have great connotations. I've said before, the Muppets always emulated pop culture, but lately pop culture itself has taken a turn for the worst.

But I agree that it could be a lot worse.

::shrugs:: It's not good to be too pessemisstic, neither is it good to be too optimistic.

I would say it might be to over the top to keep being optimistic but i would say nothing would be to bad if your optimistic for something you really enjoy or are going to enjoy.

It's times like this when a good Jim Henson quote needs to be whipped out...

"I know I drive some people crazy with what seems like ridiculous optimism, but it has always worked for me."

That quote is why I keep my ridiculous optimism going. Thanks Jim.

Wow...you just said a mouthful there, bruva. As far as I can tell, it's actually very funny to pretend to be hip and cool by using out-of-date words such as "Bling" "Sick" and "Whatup" along with "S'up" and "Fo sho mo fo." I've always been the furthest thing from someone who would use those expressions, and whenever I use them it raises amusement all around.

Also, is the same way that Gonzo has grown up and matured, maybe Animal is NOT as young as he once was and IS a balding man who ain't a gangster?

And Dr Teeth, when did it become acceptable to call people "balding white guys"?

I could've sworn it became illegal at the end of the monumental Supreme Court case "Rogaine v. Iowa" in which it was decided that the calling of bald white men "Balding White Guys" was distinctly, and forever, unconstitutional. :attitude:

That's right. Wow! Your one good listener. I don't listen very good. I tend to drift off into dreamy dream land. *starts drifting off now*
