Yea its a generic letter , they progamed our name into the computer and wrote it in! Oh buy the way I didn't get to the Touch a Muppet stage I got cut on the voice's.

Ps: Touch a Muppet sounds so bad:eek: Yes were all Puppet perverts
Hmm, I got to touch-a-muppet, yet I wasn't called for the March thing...
This is like an episode of CSI: Orlando. Maybe the theme song should be the Who's 'Behind Ping-Pong Eyes'.

I can always learn to puppeteer in the style they were looking for.
Yes, I'm sure you could. Yet this 1st stage is the basic foundation of any puppeteering which displays natural ability, or more specifically, just how far along your starting point would be compared to people who don't have an advasnced skill in lip-synch. Let's face it, We all go on about the new Mupppeteers voices, but ALL of them are bang-on w/ movements, which is 80% of the art.

Guys you have to remember; Don't get all caught up with thinking that the Muppets is the only and best thing out there for puppeteers. The Muppets are a great motivation and inspiration and have been for many years for people that are interested in that style of puppetry; but, the most rewarding thing is really doing your own thing and being in control of your own production; this is really the best feeling in the world. You be the boss of yourself. Think about it, even if you are a Muppeteer, even a with a central character, you're still getting paid a scale payment. while the exposure is great you could most likely make more money and earn a better living having your own production and building your own little empire for yourself.
It's one of those things where you don't know until you do it; then you'll see what I mean.
You raise a good point. And yes, I do do my own thing with many things, etc.

However... this thread is the Muppet audition 2005 thread, if I'm not mistaken!!! We've got a right to buzz since it's been on our heads, torturing us for months and months!!! :stick_out_tongue:

So.. are there any people who did touch-a-muppet who got this same letter yet?

I didn't get any letter. But, that's okay.

I plan to own Disney one day anyhow. SO, uh, can someone make me a loan?

Nope. I got one too, and I got cut during the lip-sync stage.

It's funny, do they wonder why they didn't find a match when most of us who can actually do the voices, personalities, mannerisms got cut without them even hearing our impersonations?

I just really wish they would've heard us first before making the cuts. I can always learn to puppeteer in the style they were looking for.

Now I'm sad all over again! :sympathy:
I think testing for voice first would have been a smart thing also if they were willing to train someone to be a Muppeteer.

However in this current audition they didn't want to teach the Muppet style of puppetry to some one who could do voices. They wanted somone already prepared in the art of puppetry.

So instead they looked for the opposite, Muppet style puppeteers with a gift for voice.

Exactly, which makes much more sense. You'd be surprised how many people do great Muppet voices. Probably even more surprised by the amount of people who think they can do great Muppet voices. The lip-synch had to be first - period. Without that ability you have a long, long way to go before entreing the pro-puppetry ranks.

You know, instead of complaining about how they conducted the auditions, why not get a puppet and a monitor and learn how to puppeteer? Even if they never have another audition, at least you'll decided if it's something you want to do.

You might even have fun.
