Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Sorry, I was called away on the phone..or away on a phone call..or something. Oh, you get the idea. Night Kelly, say hi to your roommates for us.
Gobo: Yeah, tell Kotterpin we'll be by to visit 'er sometime, eh?
Wembley: Yeah, g'night!
Me: Well, this's been fun, but I really should go get some homework done.
Gobo: You should, but that doesn't mean you will.
Me: Ah, you know me well! Well, good night ladies and gentlemuppets! See you tomorrow! *takes a piece of chicken for the road. The fraggles each pick up a raddish.* Thanks for the food and the impromptue picnic!

 

[Fragglemuppet]

*Goes into room, followed by the fraggles.*
Gobo: So, are you gonna call it a night, or are you going on your computer again?
Me: Neither. *grabs portable radio/CD player*
Wembley: Then what are you doing?
Me: Well, I thought the party was winding down, but it sounds like it's gonna go on for a while. I'm up for it if you are.
Wembley: Well yeah, I guess.
Gobo: *muddering* I knew she wouldn't get any work done.
Me: Yep, and like I said, you know me well. Now let's go kick back and have some fun!
*Walks outside, and sets radio up, tuning it to the classic rock station for now*
Me: Hey, I decided what the heck? So here we are again. Feel free to put on any music you want. I figured it was the only thing this great party was missing!

Kelly (is having a nightmare): Unh ... Kirk?

Spike (taps her shoulders): 'Ey, Kel ... wake up. Ya got homework ta do. You remember ... it was dat stuff what was due yesterday?

Kelly (snaps awake, clutches at Spike instinctively)

Spike: O_O

Kelly (finally wakes up enough to realize what Spike said, pulls away): Homework? Since when do you care about THAT?

Spike (blushes slightly): I was lookin' up on your 'puter what nurses make. *smirks, playfully threatening* You BETTAH pass dese classes o' yours, toots.

Kelly (realizes all he seems to care about is her future paycheck, rolls eyes): Right. *stands*

Spike: So, who's Kirk?

Kelly: Huh? Oh, I had a bizarre dream just now. I dreamed I was watching a documentary about Star Trek and they said Kirk had to dance naked in the last movie....

Spike (is about to gag)

Kelly (sighs): OF COURSE HE DIDN'T! Anyway, I dreamed that the documentary said that in this new movie ... he has to find a way to make peace with a special type of alien that cameos. *embarrassed pause* It turned out to be Chamberlain and some other random Skeses. *smirks*

Spike (trying to shake the image out of his head): What brought DAT on, huh? He ain't seriously gonna be IN dat movie, is he?

Kelly: Of course not, silly. It musta been from that picnic I attended last night. *embarrassed* I can't believe wrestling with Chamberlain last night made me dream about him....

Spike (sticks out tongue): I'd be embarrassed too. Ick.

Kelly (having rushed out to school real quick to deliver the homework): Whew! I'm back!

Cotterpin (sitting on computer desk): Are you in trouble?

Kelly (shocked to see Cotterpin): Uh ... no ... I'm not in trouble. We had the option of turning it in yesterday or this morning. *sighs* Let's just say I needed the extra time. *notices Spike working on her scooter* So, you finally getting that flame job, huh?

Cotterpin (nods excitedly): YEAH! Spike is absolutely PHENOMENAL! I can't wait to show everybody!

Kelly: Oh, by the way, Gobo and Wembley were happy to hear you hung out here now.

Cotterpin: Wow ... so they live here too, huh?

Kelly (shrugs): Depends. Haven't seen much Fraggly action, to be honest.

Spike (working on painting scooter): Don't care to, neither.

Kelly and Cotterpin (groan)

Cotterpin: Oh ... how am I supposed to answer the door if anyone comes to see me? I can't reach that doorknob way up there ... and you an' Spike aren't always here.

Kelly (stares at door): Hmmm ... I guess I can install an opening for you. Shouldn't be that hard.

Spike (chuckles): Yeah, a quick punch wit' a fist ought ta do it....

Kelly: I'll just make it a one-square-foot opening. That way, it oughta cover both you AND your scooter, Cotterpin.

Cotterpin (gasps with delight): Awesome!

Kelly (pulls out a random jigsaw and makes the door for Cotterpin in the center of the bottom of the door): There. That ought to do it.

Spike (glances at door): You'll let rats in.

Kelly (sighs): This is the Muppet Dorms, Spike ... there are rats ... one of whom I really think is cool ... living here.

*Walking by on the way to my room* Oh, hi Kelly! What's this? *foot touches the door* Oh, I guess you put the hole there for Cotterpin? Nice, I should'a thought of that for the fraggles. Sorry we haven't been out and about much. I've just been keeping myself so busy with classes and family. You know how it is, I'm sure what with being a nursing student and all. *calls in* Hey Cotterpin, nice to meet you! Hey Spike, how's it hangin'? *to Kelly* Anyway, I've got some schoolwork to finish up. I'll bring the fraggles over either later this evening or tomorrow. My door's always open as well if you ever want to drop by. *cheesey grin* Well, not litterally; just knock. Well, see ya later! *walks into own room*

Kelly (opens door gently and looks around): Sounded like Kate.

Cotterpin (strains to look up): Hey! You think Gobo and Wembley are around? I wanna show 'em what a neat scooter I have!

Spike (suddenly appears): I have a question: when humans keep askin' "How's it hangin'" ... what do dey ...

Kelly (makes him bend down so she can whisper in his ear)

Spike (stands up, frowning): Dat's disgusting.

Kelly (shrugs): I don't think SHE meant it that way, though. *giggle* I think she just wanted to know if you were okay.

Spike (shakes head)

Kelly: Well, let's go see if anyone's around. *knocks on Kate's door* Hello! It's Kelly and company! Anybody in?

Kate: *going to answer the door* Oh, hey Kelly! Spike, and Cotterpin, it's good to see all of you again!
Gobo: Who's at the door?
*calling back into room* It's Kelly and her roommates, Spike and Cotterpin! *to them* Wanna come in and have a seat?

Kelly: Yeah! Thanks!

Cotterpin (revs up her scooter): I'm fine on my scooter, thanks. *drives in*

Spike (holds up a stool): Brought dis. Don't wanna mess up your furniture. Heheh.

*to Spike* Thanks, that was considerate, although it's nothing too fancy to begin with.
*Gobo and Wembley, upon hearing Cotterpin's voice, come further out into the room to say hi.*
Gobo: Oh, hi Cotterpin! Kate told us you had kind of moved in. *to Kelly and Spike* Uh, hi, it's nice to meet you.
Wembley: Yeah, it's always exciting to meet new dorm members! *to self* If not always safe.
Gobo: Well, the way I see it, if Cotterpin can take the chance and has stayed in one piece so long, so can we. No offense meant big guy.
Wembley: Is that a new scooter, Cotterpin? Boy, it sure is neat!
Gobo: *looking in awe at it* It sure is. I've never seen anything like it!
Me: Would any of you like anything to drink? Soda? Ice tea? Water?

Cotterpin (squeals around in a circle in her newly-repaired scooter, also with a new flaming paint job): Isn't this COOL, Gobo and Wembley? Spike did the painting! This tall guy with wires coming out of his head ... Digit ... I think ... anyway, he an' Waldo and Lindbergh ... he kinda looks like a brown bird with a funny beak ... anyway, they fixed my scooter when it broke -- *turns to Kelly and points* -- which is all HER fault!

Kelly (nods to the Fraggles): Hi ... good to see you guys again. *jabs Spike with her elbow*

Spike (sits down on stool): Yeah, good ta see ya too. *smirks* Don't get all upset ... I got some good friends down at da Tavern who're mammals ... 'bout your size, too. I ain't gonna eat ya or nuttin'. For starters, *points at Kelly* SHE won't let me. Heheh.

Kelly (rolls eyes): I see. It's 'beat up on Kelly day' today. Ooh ... tea, huh? That's for me! If it's alright, that is. *smiles*

Cotterpin: Water is fine. You got anything like those "water bottles"? They have caps that make really good cups for little Doozers, like me?

Spike: I take it ya prob'ly won't have brew ... so soda's fine wit' me. *sees Kelly glancing at him* Oh yeah ... t'anks.
