MN: (looks up) I could have sworn that I heard a cake explode earlier today.
Storyteller: Ooh, yes, heard something about it from Gillis...and I've been hearing rumors about a river of bubbles in one of the other rooms.
Nora: Oh, well...business as usual in the dorms.
MN: I called Music Has Charms, and I've just ordered some books of music for the steel drums.
Nora: Mrs. Farley told me that she's got a book on the history of music in the Caribbean, so I'm going to give Clifford that.
Storyteller: As for me...oh, dear, oh, dear, what to give the cool Muppet who's got everything...
Nora: Don't you make necklaces out of shells and things like that?
Storyteller: Yes, suitable for both males and females...and here's one made out of conch shells and Merggle gems.
MN: Why not give that?
Storyteller: Hmm, yes, why not?
(later)
MN: You're saying that Ernie put yeast in the cake?
Storyteller: 'Twas what I heard from Gillis.
MN: And three tablespoons...woof, no wonder the cake exploded.
Nora: What should they have done?
MN: About a teaspoon or two of baking powder.
Storyteller: Oh, it's no use correcting their mistakes, they'll just go out and make new ones.
MN: Too right. It's nature's way.
