Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Alright everyone. Out to the hallway over to Ryan's room to place Clifford's presents down by the door.

Grover: *salute* I am ready.

Herry: *salute* So am i.

Maurice: *salute* I'm here.

*looks down but doesn't see FilFil or Telly* Where are FilFil and Telly?

Grover: All i remember is they were out getting a present for Clifford.

Herry: They should of waited and gone with me and Maurice.

Maurice: Maybe there around here somewhere.

Well i hope they get here soon. Alright then. Well wait till them two get back.

Don Music, Johnny Fiama, & I enter the MC Dorms building. Don and I are loaded with luggage.

Don Music: At last! Someplace where my brilliant music will be appreciated . . . (turning to me) and you’re sure they have filtered water?
Randall: I don’t know, Don. If not, I’ll buy you your own personal filter.
Don: (beaming) That would be splendid!

Johnny taps me on the shoulder as we reach the desk.
Johnny: (whispering) Who is that guy?
Randall: That’s Don Music, Johnny.
Johnny: Yeah, but who is Don Music?
Don: Only the world's most famous and beloved composer and lyrist! You must be some kind of singer to have never heard of me.
Johnny: (sighing) I miss Ma already
Randall: (trying to avoid a confrontation on our first day) Johnny, isn’t Sal coming?
Johnny: Yeah, yeah, yeah.. you know how that crazy monkey is. He’s just a little behind.

The door to the MC Dorms building swings open to show Sal Manilla arriving, Johnny Fiama’s luggage piled in his arms high above his head. He tries to see where he’s going by looking to the side but still has some trouble.

Randall: (running to help Sal) Johnny, don’t you do anything for yourself?
Don Music: That poor, poor monkey!
Johnny: No, no.. then what would Sal do?
Sal: That’s right Johnny, my best pal in the whole wide world.
Johnny: (shaking his head) What’d you do this time, Sal.
Sal: Well, ya see, Johnny, I kinda, sorta missed the first step out there. But I think I found everything.

(Don Music starts playing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” on the ring-for-service bell on the front desk)

Johnny: My suits! My poor, poor suits! Sal, they can’t take the wrinkles!
Randall: Calm down, Johnny
Sal: I know, Johnny. You want I should iron them?
Johnny: Yeah, yeah.. as soon as we get to the room… Oh, the humanity! Can we get the key to room . . . what room are we in again?
Don Music: 30.. because they didn’t have a room 88... 88 keys on a piano, you know.
Johnny: Ok.. Room 30.. Please! It’s an Armani emergency!!
Randall: Don’t be so rude, Johnny.. it’s your own fault, anyway. Just relax.. we’ll be in our room in a bit.

*looks out the door* Hey there's some new members. Look.

FilFil: *comes running into building with something in arms* Watch out! Coming though. *knocks over Sal and Don* Oh sorry bout that. *picks up the present and runs off towards room 26* Hey there Kyle. What are you looking at?

I'm looking at our new members you just knocked over. You did apologize?

FilFil: Yes. I wouldn't ever say i'm sorry.

Since your here i have a question to ask.

FilFil: Ask away.

Have you seen Telly?

FilFil: Not really. I thought he was here.

Nope. I thought he might be with you getting a gift for Clifford's party today.

FilFil: Not that i know of. I'll be in my room wrapping. *dances off to his room humming "Dancing the night away"*

Thanks alot FilFil. *heads out into the hallway* Hello there. I'm Kyle. Sorry about my roomie. He's a little in a hurry. *spots Don Music* Oh my gosh! Are you really the Don Music?

Don: Well, of course, I'm the one and only Don Music. Wonderful to meet me, I know... Always nice to meet a rabid fan!

Randall: Hiya Kyle! I'm Randall... It's ok.. don't worry about Sal.. he'll just shake it off. And Don's head's so big, it probably cushioned the blow.

Sal: Yeah, yeah.. I'm useta being knocked around a bit.

Johnny:(chuckling to himself) 'Music?' That's your really last name?

Don: Why, yes.. my father's name was Richard Music, and there are generations of musics 'playing' through my family tree.

Randall: So.. I hear it's Clifford's birthday today.

Don: You'll have to forgive us for not having gifts

Sal: Yeah.. it bein' our first day and all.

Johnny: Does he need a new Italian suit? (lowering his head in mourning).. mine are all ruined

Sal: (sniffling) geez Johnny, I'm sorry

Randall: Lighten up, Johnny.. now just because we're new doesn't mean we can't do something for Clifford

Don: I'VE GOT IT!! I'll write Clifford a birthday song.. A Don Music Original.. He'll be eternally grateful!! And, so you guys don't feel left out, you can sing along!

Johnny: Oh, great.. Tony Bennett never had to sing backup.

Randall: That's a great idea, Don!

*shaking his hand* I have all your records Mr. Music. Your one of my favorites of all music writers. Nice to meet you Randall. Glad to have new dormie living here. Yea today's Clifford's b-day. Oh that would be great Mr. Music. Can't wait to hear it. Don't worry Pops our clerk will be with ya'll soon. Sorry ya'll are having to wait so long. Nice meeting ya'll and can't wait for you and your friends to meet with the rest of the dormies and the rest of my crew.

Pops: Zzzzzzzzzzzz...zzzzzzz...

Is that who i think it is? *looks behind the desk and sees Pops sleeping* Yo Pops!

Pops: *jolts up* Uh...what? *yawns* Oh sorry 'bout that. I seem to snooze alot. So what is the deal?

We have new dormies moving in. See?

Pops: *lifts glasses and looks* Oh why we sure do. Oh sorry 'bout that. I seem to snooze alot.

Uh you just said that.

Pops: I did? Oh i did. Well here you go. I see our Mr. Ed has already had you key set out for you and your members. *hands Randall the key* You and your crew have a nice stay here. *lifts his glasses again* Boy is that kid hairy.

That isn't no kid. That's Sal the monkey.

Pops: Oh sorry 'bout that. I seem to...

*nudges Pops*

Pops: What?

Johnny: How's this crazy kid got all his records? I'm the big-time star here.
Randall: Maybe he's just never heard you sing, Johnny.
Sal: (with his 'dukes' up) Whatdaya mean 'maybe he ain't heard Johnny sing'?!?!?!!! Who ain't heard Johnny sing.. I'll tear 'em limb from limb!!! Johnny's a legend! Only the greatest singer every to blow hot-air at a microphone?
Johnny: Hey! Whatcha mean by 'hot-air,' there Sal?
Sal: Oh.. sorry Johnny.

 

[The Count]

Ahem, Kyle... Pops may be here at the dorms as our doorman, but he's not the clerk. Clerk duties are my department, along with guiding new residents to their rooms. So please keep that in mind in the future.

Hey Randall! *Don Music takes the key and heads off for the stairs. Stairs? What stairs? There are no stairs, we got rid of those in favor of our well-working dumbwaiter elevators set up inside the Old World furnaces occupying the rear right corners of all floors' common rooms.

Besides, you don't even know where your room is. OK, take the elevator up to the third floor, that's just one floor above the main floor we're on now. Once you get out and step into the common room on that floor, you turn to your left and find the first door down on your left, that's the one marked with a number 30. You should be able to find it easily. The bathrooms are the last door down on the left at the end of the other hallway on that floor.

Don Music: Yes, I must get to work on Clifford's birthday song!
Johnny: And I have to try and save delicate Italian fabrics!

(We take the elevator up one floor and step into the common room. Then we turn left and find the first door on our left.. Room 30)

Randall: Ah.. Home Sweet Home, at last.
Don: mmhm.. I can feel the music in the walls.. what an excellent room choice!
Johnny: Quick, Sal! .. to the ironing board!
Sal: Right, Johnny!
