Father: Ahh, I better take this old Pirate chest out of the attic...*removes an old, skeleton ribcage* ...and this wooden box marked "Private."

Grace: *wakes up* Ug, just 5 more minutes, mom...
Muffin: Meow? *Snuggles close to Grace*
Grace: What.. oh hi, Muffin! How's momma's little cutie?
Muffin: *hiss*
Grace: Are you hungry or something? I just fed you, what, a day ago?
Muffin: Meow!
Grace: Ok, ok! Getting it already!
*puts food in food bowl*
Grace: Morning, all.

Father Moppet: *sitting at the table, reading the paper, still on the phone to Suzan at the office* Have you tried under the plant by the front door? Yes, I do mean, the manufacturing plant next door. *to Lola* Morning. We have cereals in the cupboard, and serials in the magazine rack.

 

[TogetherAgain]

Goat: <warily peers in the front door> Hey, Frosty? Are you sure about this house thing? Because the tent was working real swell, I mean, except for that whole thing with the fire burning a hole in the top, but that works 'cause then it lets the smoke out, right? I mean, I'm all for trying different things and all, but... haven't we done this house thing before?

Grace: *pokes head in* Hiya new housemates!

Father: *to Goat* Good morning, young fellow. Perhaps it would help if you stopped thinking of this place as a house and started thinking of it as a home. As they say, Home is where the heart is. Unlike the tent, which invoked the old proverb, the hole is where the hearth is.

 

[TogetherAgain]

Goat: <crinkles nose, causing a few specks of dirt to fall off> Frosty, haven't we been over this? I'm no fellow. I'm a female. <shakes head, tossing more dirt to the floor, and comes inside> <looks at Grace> Hey! I didn't see you in the tent. You must be new here! <Grabs Grace's hand and shakes it vigorously, leaving a layer of dirt-like grime on her hand> I'm Goat! Who are you? You look clean. Have you tried dirt? I love dirt. Hey, Frosty! What've you got to eat around here?

Father Moppet: *picking a lump of dirt as shaken off of Goat from cereal bowl and frowning at it* You will find a grapefruit in the fridge, if you are looking for something healthy.

 

[Lola p]

Grace: I like dirt too. So does my cat, Muffin.
Muffin: Meow?

Grace: And by the way, i have some muffins if you want any.

Goat: Grapefruit! What a great fruit. I'll try that! <opens refrigerator door> Oh, hey, Mud Squirt! How's it goin'? <grabs grapefruit> Hey, Frosty, your daughter's in the fridge! <closes refrigerator door> Y'know, the little cute one, with the good taste. Your family really likes sittin' in the fridge, huh? Maybe that's why you like houses. I've never seen a tent with a fridge. <tosses grapefruit, catches it, then grabs a chair and turns it around to straddle it backwards while still facing the table> So, Ms. Muffin and Kitty Muffin. Ever tried bagels?
