Does anyone know whether Kermit has an "official" birthdate?

I know Kermit first appeared in 1955, but is there an "official" date?

Mickey Mouse's birthdate is November 18, 1928... I'm just wondering if Kermit can be pinned down to a specific date as well.

Thanks!

There is a timeline in a couple of books. I wonder if it's listed there?

I happen to administer a vBulletin forum, myself. You've got the forum set to not allow anyone to post a link until after they've made 10 posts, so I had to leave out the leading http: // part of the URL. Trust me, the link works. Just paste it into your browser. Better yet, you can edit my post to include the rest of the URL, which will make the link clickable.

Edit: Oh, I see you tried something earlier. You need to edit my link so that it is:

http: // muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Kermit%27s_Birthday

But without the space on either side of //.

Oh, I thought there was a "www" in there somewhere, so when I posted "www" in there it didn't work. I got it now.

Let's SAY May 9th!

I'm here to suggest for an 'official' majority ruling FROM THIS SITE,
that 'May 9th, 1955' IS the one and only B.D. for 'Henson's' Kermit....

However (like 'some' that DO believe this) - Kermit actually lived for 35 years,
and passed away (w/Henson's SOUL) - on May 16th, 1990...

NOW, what about Whitmire's Kermit, and when 'this new frog' was born?

I'm concerned about Oz: if HE goes anytime (God forbid!),
then Bert, Cookie Monster. Piggy and Yoda will have passed also.

Some may not agree with ME here, but I'd like to hear your thoughts pls - Thx!

Agreed. :frown:

Has anyone else here seen the updated film portion of Epcot's "American Adveture" show? I get choked up every time I see Jim Henson's photo in there. And Walt's, too, of course.

Well, I think that Eric Jacobson has been doing a fine job with those characters (with the exception of Cookie Monster who is now performed by David Rudman). Actually, Jacobson seems to be the most popular replacement so far.

I read in a Henson-related book once that Jim said Kermit's birthday was Leap Year Day (February 29th).
