Wolfy:

Fortunately the only thing that gets hurt is my keyboard for all the backspacing and deleting I have to do...
If you need a new keyboard let me know. I'll contribute.

I see the Middle Kingdom between Heaven and Earth
Like the Chinese call the country of their birth
We all figure that our homes, our homes are set above
Other people than the ones, the ones we know and love
In every place with a name
We play the same territorial game
Hiding behind the lines
Sending out warning signs
The whole wide world
An endless universe
Yet we keep looking through
The eyeglass in reverse
Don't feed the people
But we feed the machines
Can't really feel
What international means
In different circles
We keep holding our ground
Indifferent circles
We keep spinning round and round
We see so many tribes-overrun and undermined
While their invaders dream of lands they left behind
Better people-Better food- And better beer
Why move around the world when eden was so near?
The bosses keep on talking so tough
And if that wasn't evil enough
We get the druken and the passionate pride
Of citizens along for the ride
They shoot without shame
In the name of a piece of dirt
For a change of accent
Or the colour of your shirt
Better the pride that resides
In a citizen of the world
Then the pride that divides
When a colourful rag is unfurled

Luke, Luke...a thousand apologies...

I don't wish to kick your down, feathery little rump!

It would be too soft and cute, I'm sure.

Congrats to the family of Jessica Lynch of Palestine, WV.

I live in the Ohio Valley (which is part of WV) and last night was the first I'd heard that anyone from WV had been captured. My son and I were floored...this isn't a state where people are usually so closed-mouthed about something this big...

And just how close it Palestine, WV to an airport, anyway? The people from one of the Pittsburgh news channels heard about the rescue during the 6:30 p.m. news break like the rest of us in the area, and they had a reporter down at Jessica's parents' place by the 11 p.m. newstime! Talk about fast moving! Must have hit the first flight to Charleston and caught a fast car or something..."Channel 11 - first on the scene!"

While I grieve at the thought of that poor girl and her troop-mates being held captive (and probably killed in front of each other), I am glad she is going home.

I am sure, though, that she will be carrying scars of this war with her for the rest of her life that she will never be able to talk about with anyone. Most vets of wars have those scars, the invisible ones that they can never share... :sympathy:

PS Thanks, MuppetsRule, but my keyboard withstood that raid. I just hope I don't have to have another anytime soon; I might have to take you up on your offer!

Word to your mother...

And we're invading to liberate, not conquer. So, to me, this poem, otherwise beautiful, is irrelevant.

Better tell that to the marine on the news who said, and I quote, "Its hard conquering a country." Maybe he has Governor Bush's writers.

And just what do you have against the governor from the state of Florida?

Why do you wish to impeach him?

What has he ever done to you?

(You do realize that I am basically telling you that you are being quite silly to call a President "Governor," don't you? I mean, you do have SOME brains in that respect, right?)

Oops...guess I insulted you. Too bad.

Considering that you used my name in "insulting," comment-like references before, I only think it's fair...

Please, everybody, don't put down other members. Such acts won't get your point across to the other side. It's not necessary to antagonize fellow members either. That is not in the spirit of the forum. I know that tempers are high because of current events, but please don't feel that your views are so personal that you view those who oppose them are bad people. Our differences make this a fun place. How a person deals with adversity defines them, not their politics. If a member infuriates you don't hesitate to report them to the moderators or use the ignore feature in your user cp. Thanks. Nobody's in trouble, but I don't want to see things getting there. You all have some valid points.

LOL! Rule number 349 - No Clocking Alowed. That's right after the No Peopling Alowed clause.
