Luke, Luke...a thousand apologies...
I don't wish to kick your down, feathery little rump!
It would be too soft and cute, I'm sure.
Congrats to the family of Jessica Lynch of Palestine, WV.
I live in the Ohio Valley (which is part of WV) and last night was the first I'd heard that anyone from WV had been captured. My son and I were floored...this isn't a state where people are usually so closed-mouthed about something this big...
And just how close it Palestine, WV to an airport, anyway? The people from one of the Pittsburgh news channels heard about the rescue during the 6:30 p.m. news break like the rest of us in the area, and they had a reporter down at Jessica's parents' place by the 11 p.m. newstime! Talk about fast moving! Must have hit the first flight to Charleston and caught a fast car or something..."Channel 11 - first on the scene!"
While I grieve at the thought of that poor girl and her troop-mates being held captive (and probably killed in front of each other), I am glad she is going home.
I am sure, though, that she will be carrying scars of this war with her for the rest of her life that she will never be able to talk about with anyone. Most vets of wars have those scars, the invisible ones that they can never share...

PS Thanks, MuppetsRule, but my keyboard withstood that raid. I just hope I don't have to have another anytime soon; I might have to take you up on your offer!
