Once again, Frank's still got a triple digit segments in the season count but it is decreasing slightly, likely from having a bigger backlog of segments to repeat.

Okay, now Oz dips below the three digit segment count at this point. Curious if this is due to a combination of more segments to reuse and there being more male puppeteers like Jerry Nelson and Richard Hunt to ease Oz's roles.

Woah, one heck of a drop going into season 6 and that's before The Muppet Show began production. Then again, that Muppet Show Valentines Day pilot was being shot around this time, maybe that played a role in Oz's decreasing segments. That and more performers and more material to reuse (the final 30 episodes of the season reuse previous street stories).

Kinda noticing Oz did a lot more street scenes this season compared to others.

  • Season 4 - 90
  • Season 5 - 80

  • Season 17 - 0
  • Season 18 - 10
  • Season 19 - 15
  • Season 20 - 16
  • Season 21 - 14
  • Season 22 - 9
  • Season 23 - 13
  • Season 24 - 20
  • Season 25 - 31

  • Season 39 - 0
  • Season 40 - 2
  • Season 41 - 0
  • Season 42 - 2
  • Season 43 - 4
Seems Frank definitely had a huge number of segments in seasons 1-3 due to being early in the show's run and not having as much material to reuse at that point. Then it kinda plateaus in the 80-90 range in seasons 4-5 when enough material at that point to reuse. Seasons 6-7 decrease down to 40-50 and seasons 7-14 decrease even further to 20-40 with Frank getting busy with helping Jim with his Muppet Show pilots + Saturday Night Live's infamous Land of Gorch and later being busy with The Muppet Show and the first two Muppet films.

minor muppetz already summed up season 15 onward from there with Frank's segments taking a hit when he began directing in the mid 1980s with averages around 10-20 segments per season (aside from being fully absent in season 17 due to Little Shop of Horrors and barely in 15 during Muppets Take Manhatten and 22 during What About Bob's filming), then there's a huge increase in the mid-late 1990s going back up to 20-30 segments average per season, likely a combination of picking up the slack after Jim and Richard passed away and Steve Whitmire getting cast as Ernie (fueling more Bert material).

Then Frank takes a hit again in season 30 due to a drop in episodes and the advent of Elmo's World making it harder to add more segments and is completely absent in seasons 31-32, guessing production of The Score took up time and being around the time Eric Jacobson and David Rudman were cast as his successors. And surprisingly getting a solid amount at 10-12 segments in seasons 33-34, likely with season 34 being the last time Frank was regularly on the show before dipping to single digits from 2004 until he left completely after 2012.

Does this list also account the street scenes he appeared in?

I posted my work for how I counted Frank's work in seasons 1-9 and minor muppetz posted their proof of the segments Frank did in seasons 10-43, and yes we both included the street scenes.
