The movies were listed in a magazine article and were spoken of on Hollywood Squares. Absolutely no details, but they better hop to it! It takes at least three months to shoot and edit one of these things (not counting pre-production). I hope there's a Haloween special this year. I'm reminded of the Haunted House and Time Machine scripts that have been spoken about for years. A Haunted House Muppet special would be pretty cool. Just get John Williams to provide some music! :excited:

Yikes.

My *tumbleweed* spidey sense is on red alert.

They aren't straight to video. They are television specials. The Muppets have a history of great specials that were forgotten for a decade or so. I think it's a safe way for the Muppets to come back. If they don't do very well it's not like they'll have too much egg on their faces like a motion picture flop or a failed sitcom. I object to your tumbleweeds. :stick_out_tongue: Let's not start that again. LOL!

I like the haunted house idea. It seems like it could be very fun and Muppety to me.

yes I like that, also!

Sarah

it is the way for the muppets to come back...because old fans will tune in, and casual fans find it easier to tune in, than to go see a movie, or buy/rent a video....thus, creating more diehard muppet fans! AH HAHAHAHAHAHAAA

continuing her mad ramble in the corner.....

a couple of movies might be a test with the station....because if people watch 3 specials (counting last years) they will probably watch the show...if the did the show now, public awareness would be low, and people do not like to start watching a show in the middle of the season, when word would spread, but if whoever is airing these is smart (again I ask, do we know which channel) they would air show promos to death during TV movies......

Couldnt disagree more...it sounds tired, cliche, and not very 2003...same with the Time Machine thing. Is JHC that desperate for ideas? It makes you long for the Jerry Juhl days, when even Muppet specials were treated with dignity, not filled with a billion and one tv and product placement ads *inside* the flick.

Now yeah, Im a blind Muppet fan...like most folks Im happy with them just doing anything.

My hope was for the 'edgy' Fox show...though it sadly looks like that may not be a possibility for year's end.

Anyways, I know JHC is strapped for cahs these days, but it seems they could perhaps find some truly interesting tv special ideas. How we went from MFC and M@WDW to KSY and VMC I am not entirely sure. Though I think the missing Juhl factor may have something to do with it(just look what happened when the screwed up his MFS script)
