Well considering the little PVC figures have as much articulation as the regular size WoS and the 9 inch line (four points I believe) that is not too bad.

Ok then i am right about the fact they have articulation. Now i KNOW that Playmates can do it so cheaply because they produce in greater qualities and the paint jobs aren't quite as complicated as the Muppet figures, but we know that Palisades can do a better job design wise than Playmates. So can't Palisades match Playmates price point but include one or two less figures in the set to even up the odds a little bit against Playmates line ? If Playmates can do 5 figures for $10 - how about Palisades do 4 figures for $12 ? I would think that is totally reasonable, or maybe even 3 for that price with arches and accessories they could hold in their hands or something !

I guess it would be cool to see them themed around each episode of TMS and you could get away with doing scenes from some of the more obscure episodes, and have some nice outfits and poses. I agree that it's not right just to downsize the figures already out there, i just mentioned that because i thought it might be easier to produce but now i've really thought about this there are so many possibilities. Maybe more than the regular line, and much more than the Mega line that few people seem to want 'as is'.

Four points of articulation seems mighty fine to me for a mini Muppet action figure line, not quite as much as the regular line, but so much more than the un-articulated PVC's we've seen in the past for Henson characters - is there anyone out there that wouldn't be satisfied by this or would feel cheated ?

I just REALLY feel the fans and collectors would dig all this - its a massive gap in the Muppet merchandise market which needs to be filled, Palisades are in the right place to fill it, they have the right creativity and research base to get the themes right, they have the right relationship with the Henson company, and it will open up a whole new massively popular and hopefully long lasting line. This is really an opportunity not to be missed - i am actually excited beyond belief about a merchandise line that doesn't involve ALF - that should tell people something !

I'm always interested in the behind the scenes work on stuff. In the case of action figures, did JHC or Palisades originally create the idea of the figures? Where does the initial funding come from? Does JHC, for example, approach your company or does your company create a proposal and go to them to earn the rights to make the figures?

I'm still learning much about the crazy world of action figures and must admit to not knowing mini PVC figures could be articulated. I just imagined them as sculpted and posed figures like the Schleich Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock line of the 80s - only much better. It wouldn't bother me if these were posable or not. I'd just like them to be a little different than the megas and regular assortment.

Ok, i feel better about the rowlf swich now that ken explained it, i still do want a reg Rowlf more, but at least we are geting a rowlf fig in this seires 3. i hope he won't be too much longer for the reg.

i like the idea of logo bases being sold on the site or the CC. i wouldn't mind if they still said 25th an, but at least have them with the muppet show logo on them.

I'd be okay with a general Muppets logo for the bases - maybe in classic silver. But I like that they will be sold seperately.

i have a question that's kind of related to the bases.

i know Ken has mentioned that Beaker not having holes in his feet so he could at least fit on a stand was a mistake. my question is that if they stop selling the stand WITH the figs, will they stop putting peg-holes in the feet altogether?

i doubt it's anything to worry about (even if it happens) but i was curious...

Hey Jamie,

I know what you mean. Here in the UK 'PVC' is something you make a jacket out of, and i've never seen an articulated 'PVC' figure either. I just saw about them in Michael's review.

To everyone who commented that the Muppets would need a lot more detail than the Simpsons, check out those Simpsons mini's and the close-up shots. They are very well defined and detailed. They do however use stickers on their figures which i take it is a lot cheaper and easier.
