Nice update! I'll admit I haven't read the whole story yet--dang, it's a long, chewy one--but I'm working on it.

I recently read a National Geographic article about child soldiers, and it's rough to read about children being used as soldiers, but it happens. The world can be a nasty place.

*Writing letter... Dear Mr. Rogers...
No wait, that's the wrong person. *Scratches that out.

Dear Lisa...

Thank you for the update to HOG. It was exactly what this place needed around here. More frogs and pigs and bears and dogs and chickens and:zany:, no, wrong response. Rully appreciate the three different interviews and how Larson dealt with each of them. The tone of conversational sympathy that at least let him discourse with the adult, the frankness not shown with the teenager creating the possibility that he'll help the troops by giving them info, and then the casualness and attempt at showing human emotions with the younger kid. It can be tough at times but that's the kind of thing I can relate to at this point and thank you for writing. As for the V-Day mail call, mmm, someone say something about chocolate chip cookies? :insatiable: Wha? How does he manage to pop up into every conversation? Maybe Kermit should focus on his googly eyes instead of the ones that keep appearing for him, dunno which would be creepier... Especially if you've checked that thread about the human-eyed Muppets. Erm, yeah, anyway thank you so much for posting an update to one of your long-running faves. Hope to read more from this or any of the others that need tending whenever you can get to it.

Sincerely... 1, 1 Faithful Reader/Reviewer! :batty:

Well... would ya lookit that! There appears to have been a chapter of this here story posted... here. Quite a good one, at that. I didn't realize I missed this story until I started reading. The guys in the unit are just awesome. I'm a big fan of that camaraderie that you write so well, Halfington. But, of course, your forte, the dramatic tension, was killer--seriously, I nearly died! This is some heavy stuff, man! Very interesting to see Kermit in front of the camera, as always. He's such a great screen personality... and text personality too, I guess.

MORE PLEASE!

It's amazing how inspiring it is to get six replies to a chapter within twenty-four hours of posting it. This time yesterday, I knew all of two words about the next scene. Now I've written the first eight paragraphs, and I've got the whole closing sequence all figured out... I would LOVE to keep writing it, except that I need to get to bed so that I can get OUT of bed in time for class tomorrow. Ooh! AND, I've added a BUNCH more scenes to my timeline! Oh, there is SO much heartache in store for you guys. It's gonna be GREAT! ...Er, ah... eh he he. There's... happy stuff, too. I promise. There IS happy. Ooh! I have an idea. Why don't I go through my timeline and count up how many of these scenes are painful and how many aren't? Yeah! That's a GREAT idea! (I am SO not ready to go to bed yet...)

...Alright, that's sixty-nine scenes planned... or at least, sixty-nine events listed. Some events take more than one scene. But that's complicated. Now, let's see how many of those are painful...

...Alright, so of the next sixty-nine or so events I have planned, only fifty of them are painful! ...Dear Lord, I am a TERRIBLE person. Did I mention some of those events are MASSIVELY, HUGELY painful? Like, I'm-gonna-make-you-hurt-in-places-you-didn't-even-know-you-had kinda pain? Like you're-not-gonna-realize-how-much-you-love-this-character-until-I-do-this-to-them pain? Yeah. Yeah, there is not enough aspirin in the world for all the pain I've got in store for this story. All those times Prawnie has told me over IM that he's not gonna survive this story? Yeah. Keep the shocky things at the ready, 'cause teddy bears ain't gonna cut it. And coming from me, you KNOW that's saying a lot.

...You... didn't wanna recant any of that nagging, didja?

I didn't think so.

Are you talking Melinda and Ray the Frog kind of pain? Or is it more along the lines of malnourished Jungle Survivor Piggy pain? Maybe it's a medical machine hooked up to Robin kind of pain? Yeah, we're ready for what you've got. Now c'mon and post it girly.

<Grins> Yeah, that's what I thought you'd say. Ah, my little emotional masochists...

Hmm... Good question. There's SOME Melinda and Ray the Frog type pain... ish... But it's not QUITE like that, exactly... Beyond that, I can't quite categorize it to align with any of the other kinds of pain I've written. Especially this series of eighteen scenes that'll last at LEAST three chapters... Yeah, you're all gonna hate me. Ooh! And before that comes THESE scenes, and... Ah shoot, I gotta get to class. But don't worry! I'll be writing more tonight.

It's so nice to be excited about a story again!

Oh why must you delight and pulling my heart-strings in suspense!

Sounds like it will be a narrative of very heavy duty proportions!

I already am starting to feel bad for these characters, yet I earn to read all of it! The pain, the laughter, the sorrow, all of it. I'm scared and intrigued and what will happen next. I want to take a huge, deep breath and plunge into the pain, hopefully reaching a happy ending.

It's so nice to be excited about a story again!
I'm so glad that you are! This has always been my favorite story on the forum because it pulls me in like no other. I'm dying for updates as always and I can't wait to read what you have in store for us!

Teddy Bear Alert! At least half of this chapter just sort of did its own thing and went and got all painful. I don't know which of my minds to blame for this, but I swear, it is NOT MY FAULT! ...Right. Anyway.
