I kinda stand by the opinion that Piggy is still coming off as the overly-mean one-dimensional always-angry compassion-lacking "It's HI-YAH time" version of her that she is not supposed to be.
I really do think that Jim Lewis, Kirk Thatcher and Eric Jacobson should get some coachings from...
And I bet that whoever she chops will fight back.
Because let's face it: the mostly one-dimensional, unsympathetic Piggy of today deserves it, especially because she now treats her karate-chopping as her answer to EVERYTHING (which was not always the case with the more complex Piggy of the past).
In that regard, maybe we should send :fanatic: to those people and places to try and talk some sense into them.
After all, if :fanatic: can get the Muppets back together, he can get those heartless legal guys to lighten up and say "Yes" too.
Also, even she has always thought of the other Muppets as weirdos and hasn't always held them in high regards, I don't think she was ever THAT mean about them or towards them in the Muppet Show days and in the 80's. She still did care about the others, even if they annoyed her--a trait that she...
My thoughts exactly.
It makes me hope that the pig is only kidding when she has said certain mean things. Even though she has always had a tendency to overact when others gave her frog an innocent hug or peck on the cheek, trying to keep Kermit from Amy Adams and telling the frog to not name...
I agree, but what I'm saying is that it feels as if her character losts its depth and became more one-dimensional in recent years, especially before the movie. She has come off as being meaner than she was when Frank Oz was still her performer.
This, of course, is not a slam against Eric...
True. Another example is in The Muppets Take Manhattan ("Friends hug. They don't spy."--a valuable lesson that the pig seems to have forgotten, which is a shame).
Sorry, but it just leaves a bit of a taste in my mouth when you consider how much they've depicted the pig as a jerk in recent...
True. Not only that--Piggy did seem to get some of her old complex personality back in the new movie, including her vulnerable side.
However, reading interview articles like this makes me think that the frog and pig are still making occassional jokes at each other's expense at times, such as...
Very true. At times like this, I get the feeling that some fans want certain characters to be one-dimensional and not three-dimensional.
Another good example of this is Cookie Monster, who, like many other Muppets, is a pretty complex character, despite being a one-trick pony. He has a habit of...
Actually, Gonzo was not cut out.
He appeared. Some of you just missed him.
Anyway, I liked their appearances in this year's parade, especially Statler & Waldorf heckling the proceedings from atop the Emporium on Main Street. They should do that every year.
I know that we probably don't know, but I was wondering if Frank Oz's opinions on the new movie may have changed since its release.
I hope he has since acquired a more positive view on it, especially after all the changes made since he read the first draft.
Also, if Frank were to say something...
