Most likely not happening. The only things I can see changing in the pre-show would be the removal of any and all references to Kodak, since Disney and Kodak severed their ties earlier this year.
She also harmed Robin in the Linda Lavin episode's Vet's Hospital sketch. But then again, it's one thing for her to harm other Muppets, but to do to that to a non-Muppet kid is crossing the line.
That's very true. I wish more modern Muppet productions would take hints from VMX and the 2011...
I will admit to being dramatic, but I really had to get it off my chest.
As I said before, I agree that she was just right in the movie. It's just that most of us wish that everything else she's in would keep her that way.
P.S.: I also remember hearing Frank say somewhere that "People want Piggy to be b****y". And he's absolutely correct in this case--so many of these writers have been doing just that, thus destroying her character and making her dislikable.
Oh, I just remembered that! I hated that bit too! All the more reason to despise that mean-spirited pig who has since lost all of her redeeming values! It's bad enough that I'm already in a bad mood right now as it is! :grouchy:
If she would still be written like she was in the old days or...
I should've known.
Either way, it would've been nice if Eric and the other Muppeteers had tried to prevent them from mis-writing Piggy's characters. Unless they couldn't, for some reason.
That's what I'd like to know too.
Regardless, to borrow a quote from ToughPigs: "Latter-day Muppet writers have had a hard time pinning her down, because it’s so tempting to just make her go around yelling and hitting people."
But still, Eric and the others should've spoken out and tried to...
Well, I just watched the clip of that highly uncomfortable scene on YouTube and I feel even more sick just knowing that the pig would stoop so low as to threaten and try to assault a little kid--something that she NEVER would've done in the Muppet Show days! :grouchy:
Why did Eric not stop...
Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Now, please tell us all what's going with Muppet Show Seasons 4 and 5 and why their releases have been pushed back? We really need to put that one to rest.
That sounds horrible and so not in her nature! As if I didn't need enough reasons to hate the modern Piggy.
To borrow a quote from one of the ToughPigs forum threads about the Muppets' appearance on The Bachelorette, "It was going so well 'til they used Piggy in the same old angry-arse...
Regardless, let's hope that a valid reason for her getting worse in this story will be given, which could maybe help explain why she went through her flanderization and is now going too far with her over-protectiveness (including going so far as to control who Kermit keeps in contact with, which...
I fully agree.
The only Frank Oz characters that have been Flanderized under Eric Jacobson (and Jim Lewis and Kirk Thatcher) are Piggy and, to an extent, Sam Eagle.
I agree. I also hate this part:
To me, that's just supporting the flanderized one-dimensional version of the relationship that most of us loathe and despise, IMO, and makes the relationship seem way too potentially abusive, like the kind of relationship nobody would want to be in.
Mupcollerctor1, the Muppets STILL do crazy stuff.
Also, how could you put down Pepe going solo and Walter? They're two of the best characters that they have now.
Don't listen to any of this hooey. It's already been proven that MiceAge/MiceChat is NOT a reliable source.
Al Lutz only made up this rumor again because he obviously hates the Muppets or at least the Muppet 3D attraction and has an agenda.
