That is a picture of it. It is not a good. I will post you some of it and the raven and rocks he did for a dessert theatre he did at his church. Give me a few days to go through my pictures.
Well...heck let's just continue this then. Hmmm! Has anyone seen the pirate puppet that David built? Or maybe the rock and raven puppets he built for a dessert theatre. Hmmm...there is something new!!!!
Just because I know David...and he did sell to pick-me products. Those were part of their catalog section. When David stop producing the puppets they stopped selling them. So...yes there were ALP puppets but they do not sell them anymore.
I have not used them but, I have seen that fur before. It is a really neat look. The only thing I did not like was the net it was sawn too you can see through. Some areas are larger than others. But, hancock had some but it was in about 6 different colors.
Want to add to that. If you have any of Armslength Production puppets that come from catalog section they fit really well. This is not the patteren puppets that you buy but the other puppet line he had out.
I have always used hot glue in the mouth. One way to keep it from getting lumping is to have a glue gun that a tube tip. This is a tip that sticks out about 2" and you can get into the corners and under the fleece. It gives you a smooth even coat.
You can get it at Hampshire. Really only place to get if you want it cheap. You have to send Larry $500.00 and he will send a roll from 45 to 65 yards. You never really know until you get it. If it is over like 50 yards he will send you a bill for difference if under he will send you a check...
When I started building very few would give too much of any type of help. I met David P. and he was like a well of knowledge and was willing to give what he had learned. And now I feel the same way. I am open and always sharing the knowledge that I have gained. I just know that if it was not for...
I understand what you are saying about learning. You do gain alot learning by just doing it. But, I also understand it take more than just a few being shared to build something too. As I posted in another post that it is very rare that the higher end folks share to much of anything. They have...
Trent,
David uses a belt sander to make noses. But also he used just little razor or scissors. The ears he will show you if I am not mistaking. I know now that on his puppet line that he did sale he uses a vacuam form machine. I think he will give you some tips on the video to make noses. I...
I know we don't think about it. But remember it always seems that that the character that you think that is not going to be big...is the one who is in your shows. If I am going to spend time in creating a puppet...I just want to make sure I can do it again by making I have everything written and...
I have to voice a little about David's video. Understand that the video is to help you put the puppet patteren together. You will have to carve the nose out of foam and put hair on. The video does not tell you how to build patterens or anything like that. I hear all the pro's and con's of the...
Not sure if I understand why you can't. If you building a puppet from a patteren then you should make copies of the patteren. If I am building a head like Grey Seals do...I will take it all apart after glueing just so I have a patteren. I always dye extra fabric...so if I need to rebuild a...
I would not glue it to the foam unless it has alot of old age grooves. I would as buck said but you can take to another step to even better that. If you use the patteren you could cause yourself even more darts that are not needed. Antron has a one way stretch. I would take the head with...
I believe it has alot to do with the area you live or work in. I do shows for libraries, birthdays and other events. I charge between $150.00 to $350.00 according to where I am doing it. I have done some trade shows that are little more. But, when I started I did alot of free shows and shows...
Davis uses a doll joint to connect the arm to the body. You can buy doll joints at local hobby shop if you don't want to purchase a ton of them from Mercury Plastics. The male part is just hot glued into the arm and then the famale part is just snapped over it. I would just replace it. Some tend...
