I just made an order with Mercury this week. I talked to them for quite a while. They did tell me that you can buy less just have to catch them in right time. He was going to sell me 25 pairs. So...you might be able to do that. I always order like 100 pairs and have had no problem.
Not that they don't deserve some credit...I know for a fact looking at the original Bear costume and the one used for the travel show are much different. The one that travels in my opinion alot better.
Just got finshed with a new Pelican Puppet. Take a look. It came out wonderful. It is a human hand puppet so it could reach into it's pouch and bring objects out.

Kye,
I think you are right...from knowing people who are in those costumes and talking to them..and also seeing there work first hand. I really believe they have taken building and designing to an all new level for sure.
We just added a new puppet into our catalog section. It is a blacklight rubber band man puppet. Also we just built one for a hotel in Orlando that is 8 feet tall that you walk around with. The one our our web site is about 26" tall and is totally bendable. You can open long ways or make him...
I have posted in this or in one of the forums on how David made those heads. The darts placement comes in the way he designs his heads. They sorta come by themselves.
This is the second year at Discover Mills. We will be performing there...Doing a blacklight number as well as some mascots will be out. See you there Froggie.
I think you should build two or three low end puppets that are you own signature character. Let people get to know what you do. Then also put out you higher end so to show off your talents. I go in the door to many customers of ours by our low end stuff and then they decide they want their own...
I agree with Buck...you need a good website. I think another area you need to look at is children's conferences or creative arts festivals. These two areas are always looking for vendors. You pay like 100 dollars per table but...it gets your name out there and puts it in front of people who are...
It is amazing how different they come out. Remember that pupil size does a whole lot to it. And also the placement of the eyes on the head. With just those two things can make it older or younger.
I have heard through the grape vine...that they may start back up building. Just have to wait for a few and see. But, I think you will see them back here real soon.
On the C puppet it is hard for pretty much anybody to use all their fingers in there. My wife can but I do the same as you do and just use my middle fingers. But, one reason I do use my middle fingers is that I use my 1st and 4th fingers to move eye lids and special effects. Doing a good job on it!
