On the subject of Muppet Christmas Carol, I loved it. It was one of my favorite Muppet projects ever. But MTI was less appealing to me, and I downright suffered through Muppet Classic Theater. I hope they aren't going back in this direction again. We need to see more of the original characters...
OK, it looks like I spoke too soon. They have some tutorials and a FAQ, so I should be okay.
However, I just downloaded the stuff, then ran the installation wizard. Now I go to the "Maya" folder that I created. And, umm...where's the file to just RUN the thing? There are about a dozen folders...
Very cool! I much prefer puppets and people in prosthetics and costumes to the unreal look of the CGI creatures in movies today, including the newest Star Wars films.
Sci-Fi.com News reported that Warner Bros. has already commissioned a screenwriting team to begin work on a script for a third Scooby movie. I know it seems weird, but I guess they want to get rolling on it pretty quickly if the second one does well.
So even though you accidentally said 3...
Henson has already announced plans to roll out a bunch of Babies merchandise within the next year, in honor of the show's 20th anniversary. If those sales do well, I expect we might be seeing Muppet Babies on DVD before too long.
People have done awful things in the name of religion, sure. But religion has inspired some of the most amazing acts of humanitarianism (Mother Teresa, Albert Schweitzer), and some of the most fabulous works of art that have touched people everywhere (Handel's Messiah, the Sistine Chapel)...
I forgot to mention: meeting Muppet fans online, and then meeting them in person, was one of the best experiences. I made friends with Carolyn (Apple), and this is one of my dearest and most treasured friendships now. I also highly value the time spent with Kev, Jamie, Scott and the whole rest...
You've only got two days to write a report? Yipes! Or perhaps you're just getting around to it now. ;)
Well, it's late, so I'll have to keep this short. I found MC in 1998 and started posting in Jan. of 2000. I find it a great stress reliever at the end of the day (except when flamewars...
*sheepish* Whoops. I guess I need an e-mail notification reminding me that it's YOUR birthday, Phil! ;)
Glad your birthday was a good one. Here's to many more. Hope you got lots of cool Muppety presents! :excited:
Now let's have some cake...whoops...looks like Cookie Monster got here...
Try typing in "Rizzo Rat" as a search on Google. And don't forget to give credit to the sites you got 'em from.
Also, if you have a scanner, you can look through some recent books for photos, and if you have screen-grab software on your computer (your best bet), you can get images directly...
Sarah,
Sweeps lasts for an entire month. Sweeps months are always in November, February, and May. (I think they also do it in July, but that's outside of the regular TV "season," which runs from September through May.) For some odd reason, sweeps months always start on a Thursday (don't ask...
Wow. That's awesome. The Muppeteers are always so friendly and approachable. How thoughtful of him to send that. You rock, Steve!
Nik: Yeah, that is a great building, isn't it? I frequently have to drive past there while driving en route to someplace else. I'm always craning my head as I...
Christianity as practiced by the majority of people and pastors is much different than the wild extremism seen on TV. The problem is, that's what attracts attention. People who go to church every week and love their neighbors don't make for good TV. A group of lunatics picketing someone's...
Finally just caught up with this thread.
Cory, my buddy, I agree with most of the shows that you listed as being complete junk, but I have to take issue with your classification of VeggieTales in the same category. One minute you seem to take issue with them supposedly forcing a reactionary...
If Jim Henson were still alive, I'd ask him:
So, how're you gonna get out of this coffin?
Sorry. That was horribly tasteless, but I couldn't resist. :p Hope you all took it in the spirit of silly fun that the rest of the posts were in.
Seriously, though, why couldn't we ask him any...
