    It's Official: Series 9 & 10 Announced!

Well, granted, it's not as outrageous as the examples I mentioned. Still, I think there's so much more interesting enough that can be produced that would thrill the Muppet fan and still be eye-catching to the casual buyer off the street. Casual fans wouldn't remember Kermit with his banjo...

    Thanksgiving menu

Ahh, another classic returns. Thanks, Jamie and Phil! I get such a kick out of this one. Do we have different menus leading up to Christmas, then? (Not different from last year, necessarily -- just different from each other each week.)

    It's Official: Series 9 & 10 Announced!

I think you misunderstand me. I have no problem with themed variants. I have no problem with colorful versions of characters that stand out on the toy shelf. My problem is with variants that seem to exist solely for the purpose of perpetuating the line, rather than giving us figures that are...

    It's Official: Series 9 & 10 Announced!

Oh, wow. I didn't read what the pack-ins were before. The Java Muppets? I never would have expected them in a million years. And YORRICK?!?!? Of all Muppets, Yorrick?? I'm not upset, just astounded. That's amazing! I'm a happy camper. (I do want it to be Yorrick from Sam and Friends.) So the...

    It's Official: Series 9 & 10 Announced!

OK, I hadn't seen the Pallisades FAQ before. So that rules JHH out. :sympathy: Wonder why, when they're doing Muppets Tonight, which wasn't exactly a roaring success either. Oh, well. Interesting that they mention JHH is not included right off the bat, then mention SS, Fraggles and Muppet...

    It's Official: Series 9 & 10 Announced!

Actually, I believe they have the liscense for all the TMS-related movies, shows and specials now, which would include JHH (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The only reason they haven't done any JHH figures is because that's a really obscure show and they have a lot more figures to get through...

Henson talking to Disney and Viacom for potential partnership deals

But if Viacom deals with Henson, they'll most likely slot them in their Nick Jr. programming, thinking they're on the same level with Fairly Oddparents or something. When TMS aired on Nick in the early 90's, that was where they were slotted.

Farscape mini-series in development for 2004

Still more reports (nothing official yet, though. Keep in mind that "Confirmed" and "The Rumors are True" are their words, not mine): http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/440/440604p1.html Confirmed: Farscape Miniseries on the Way! The rumors are true... November 14, 2003 - As IGN...

Henson talking to Disney and Viacom for potential partnership deals

I'm with Kev. As long as it's not a buyout, I'm cool with it. I don't want the same people who mismanaged Disney's feature animation department to be in charge of the Muppets. However, Columbia TriStar hasn't been all that great for the Muppets. They need someone with a big marketing reach, and...

    Happy birthday, Mickey Mouse!

Well, it's 11:50 p.m. by my clock, so there's still just enough time to post this today. A major milestone: the first Mickey Mouse cartoon, "Steamboat Willie," was released 75 years ago today (Nov. 18, 1928). Happy birthday, Mickey!

    Gonzo's Species

Nobody knows. That's one of the many, many problems with MFS: the whole movie is supposed to be about finding out where Gonzo is from. In the end, we learn...he's from space. Which is what we knew from the title of the film anyway.

Rumor: John Denver & the Muppets Christmas DVD

Well, "taking a holiday" is another way to say "going on vacation." That was the meaning they were going for, though clearly more than one person has been confused by the title. Even the video stores often put this one in the "Holiday" section.

    Happy Kermit the Frog Day!

As has been pointed out on TP, it was a year ago today that Kermit got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The mayor (?) declared that day was Kermit the Frog Day. That's as good as an annual holiday for me. So...happy Kermit the Frog Day, everyone! (Especially to Kermit.)

Rumor: The Muppet Wizard of Oz

Exciting update! Hey, guys, just got this from Secret Squirrel over at TP: "Wizard of Oz. It's for ABC. Kirk will direct." For those of you who don't know, Secret Squirrel is an anoymous poster who may work for the Henson Company (Phil may know for sure; we don't). At any rate, his info...

Rumor: John Denver & the Muppets Christmas DVD

I apologize -- I forgot you might need some clarification since you're new. Phillip Chapman is the creator of this website and the head moderator of the forum.
