I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but there have been no new releases of The Muppet Show on DVD from Tri-Star Columbia. Volumes 1 and 2 were released in September, Volumes 3 and 4 were released in March. It's now September again, and I've heard nothing about Vols. 5 and 6.
Yeah, at...
Well, sure, it's silly and I don't really expect it to happen. But honestly, it's not much more silly than splitting up the character of Jacob Marley into two characters.
I would have said the Two-Headed Monster, but that's all dependent on getting the rights from Sesame Workshop. ;)
Well, actually that's what I was saying, Zack. I loved DuckTales, and Quack Pack just seemed like a cheap knockoff.
BoyRaisin, I'm not sure if DIC even still exists at all. But Doug was definitely from DIC before it was bought out, and Recess and Pepper Ann both seem in the same style. These...
Actually, since Zaphod has two heads, maybe Statler and Waldorf should be playing him instead. ;)
Of course Hollywood wants someone like Jim Carrey to be in the film, because they're all about selling films based on having big stars. While I like Carrey's outrageous humor in the right film...
I think it's actually "yea, verily" (no "h" at the end of the first word). "Yeah" is more modern English, "yea" would be the mideveal pronounciation/spelling. Hope that helped.
Hi, HerryGrail! Yes, I'm familiar with GoodTimes' VHS releases, and they seem to take a kind of perverse pride in doing the sloppiest job possible. It's just a weird irony in this case, as the content that they're distributing is something much sought-after by collectors. If they were just...
Hmm. A friend of mine who's been looking for the Sullivan DVD to no avail tells me he's seen the Rocky Mountain DVD everywhere he's gone (which knowing him would include Best Buy, Target, Suncoast, etc.). I didn't specifically ask about Storyteller.
Sorry, I don't have a scanner. :( Perhaps some kind person with a scanner and a copy of The Works will read this and be able to help you out.
And sorry, but I'm not sure what "two monsters" you're talking about. I don't see them in this picture and I don't know which other picture you might...
DuckTales was AWESOME. TaleSpin was even better, if that's possible. Darkwing was fun if not quite up to the level of the other two. Chip 'N' Dale skewed a little young for me but was still fairly enjoyable. I didn't care for Goof Troop at all (though I liked the movie, oddly enough)...
Thanks for your kind words, Daffyfan. :)
Narpin: Because of Frank's limited availability, Muppet productions have in recent years tried to avoid featuring Frank's characters heavily. Muppet fans have noticed (and complained), and the general public has unconsciously responded by changing...
One thing I hadn't noticed before: this is NOT the same pic as the one used in the front of The Works, in the dedication just before the table of contents. I've seen both photos before, and because they're all Jim characters (many of the same ones are used), and because they're all holding...
Sorry, I don't have any more information at the moment, but I'll let you know if I hear anything.
I'm tempted to say they sold for $680 million, but that's just my sick sense of humor. ;)
Gonzo was the Mad Hatter. A nondescript bunny was the March Hare (played by Steve Whitmire). I could be wrong, but I believe the Tea Mouse was Rizzo (with no lines, of course). Scooter appeared as the knight in a reindition of "Jabberwocky," the famous poem from that book.
Dr. Teeth was...
I know there are some animation fans here, and some VeggieTales fans in particular, so I thought you might be interested to read this:

Thanks for the update, Secret Squirrel. Some people here had suspected as much. Oh, well. Maybe if they ever do another one they can record it. And maybe we can see little snippets in upcoming retrospectives and DVD collections!
Here's hoping...
I'll be out of town from Thursday, Aug. 28 thru Tues., Sep. 2. So I won't be checking e-mail or responding to posts till Wednesday the 3rd. Take care, everyone! Try not to have too much fun without me. ;)
