ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...now THERE is a license Palisades should try and pick up. i think i know someone with access, if anyone's interested...
it might be difficult though...likeness rights and all, but the fact that these people are (unfortunately) largely unknown outside of MST3K...
to answer two questions at once, the way i hear it, the Megas will be available for sale in-between the regular series. so between series II and III would be Beaker, between III and IV will be (apparantly) Animal, etc. that way there is a constant Muppet presence and people don't lose...
oops...
Matt = "Cantus Rock"
sorry Matt, i just gave away your secret identity...guess i should give away mine too...to be fair
"Grail" = Mike (in case there's anyone left that didn't know)
Beaker - i own both Cannibal the Musical and Hitchhiker's Guide on DVD, and as soon as Orgazmo hits, i'll be purchasing it as well...the word "Shpadoinkle" (i think that's how it's spelled, anyway) has crept into my vocabulary, though i don't, as a rule, write it down.
Aerosmith - you made my...
er...no...though that's about the funniest thing i've ever heard. it's actually Dr. Forrester from MST3K. it's a pic from the movie that i edited to fit. i am not the porn freak that Ken apparantly is...i've only even SEEN Ron Jeremy in Troma movies and "Orgazmo" which really is a pretty...
yeah, that was brought up in another thread. i thought Travis said nobody was supposed to say anything until after Palisades had made their announcement. it kinda ruins the fun for those of us that liked the suspense. i suppose it coulda been worse though. they coulda spoiled the whole line...
yeah, that sounds like the case...but i thought anyone at pre-Toyfair already knew but was asked by Travis to not say anything until Palisades themselves made an announcement. that's why photographs of him weren't allowed.
Travis, can you confirm my thinking on this, or am i wrong? you were...
while i'm still not a fan of the person, i do have to say a couple things. first off, it was my understanding that he got his name because when he was a kid, his friends decided that he looked like Snoopy, and the name stuck, though it's mutated over the years to sound "cool".
secondly...
i'm eligible to go because of my connection to Zen, but you'd better believe that i double and triple checked that with the people in charge. now i just have to get myself there...
while i'm not sure that "based" is necessarily the correct word to use, i would definately say that many of the Muppets were INSPIRED by certain real people.
for example, i always thought that the inspiration for Zoot was "Blue Lou" Marini. he was the Sax player on SNL in the early years...
man...that's rough.
if i had to make a choice, i'd go Peanuts first. they're unfortunately the ones most likely to be really hard to find later. then, if you decide later that you really can't live without the BOTP figs, you can get them...cause you WILL have a million dollars (have a...
jeez Cory, do you ever have an opinion that you don't have to force people to see as "the right way"? i mean, you're a good guy and all, but what you think is not the end all and be all.
i've seen Zim. i honestly wasn't impressed. now i like JTHM, but like many writers before him, Vasquez...
no worries...i didn't get much of a chance to see it, but i kinda dug Ripping Friends too...cartoon network is advertising "Ripping Friends: Uncut" which i'm interested in seeing.
