AFAIK the rights issues that plague MFC in the US aren't a problem in the UK. However, all VHS releases from the first one in 1989 onwards have been cut by a few seconds.
Whatever they do, keep your fingers crossed that the UK release isn't taken from the same master that was used for the...
I was watching the UK edit of "The Day The Music Died" last night, and the postcard is Matt's visit to a football stadium. In the last shot of the segment, where Matt's joined the crowd with the red and white scarves, the man standing next to him looks down and smiles...and it's none other than...
Just got my FP catalog this morning :-)
Currently, we have:
Series 5: Gonzo & Camilla, the Newsman, Pepe and Janice
Series 6: Statler, Waldorf, Clifford and Bear On Patrol Fozzie
They also have the Statler/Waldorf and Beaker/Bunsen 2-packs (the latter of which is shipping - got mine a...
Er...don't use Kazaa in that case ;-)
Admittedly the only English and French language ones up there are DVD-rips, but hey, if you speak German or Italian you're quids in!
And no, I'm not posting where I saw these.
I said "wouldn't", not "didn't". If the download wasn't available, they still wouldn't have bought the DVD. There's no sale there no matter what.
That's not evidence, that's FUD. Yes, CD sales are down. They've been decreasing steadily for years, partly for the reason I mentioned. The...
The flip-side of that argument is that most of the downloaders wouldn't have bought the item in the first place. Certainly there's no evidence that music sales are being hit by downloading. The main reason for the slowdown of CD sales is that for the last 20 years people have been replacing...
DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer...
Nope. I don't recall the exact details of the US law, but the UK version, which is similar, states that you can only hang onto the recording for 30 days. You're not supposed to build up a library of recordings, much less make copies of them for others. The...
Something I'd like to see added to the A/V sections is catalogue numbers for the releases, and also details of non-US items. I know there are some UK releases listed, but these seem to be only where there wasn't a corresponding US release. I can supply information on a good many of these, and...
To be honest, the collectibles guide - at least the A/V sections - is pretty much incomplete and inaccurate :-( I've got numerous items in my collection that don't appear in the guide, and others which directly contradict it. Hence, I don't rely on it for anything more than the titles.
I'd...
Heh...nope! Despite what several confused eBay sellers seem to think, they are completely different technologies.
Laserdisc is an optical format, much like CD and DVD, although it's actually analogue, not digital. CED is a capacitance format - it works on a similar principle to the vinyl...
There were four: "Hey Cinderella!", "The Frog Prince", "The Muppet Musicians of Bremen" and "Emmet Otter's Jug-band Christmas" (this one was shot during production of TMS). They were all available on VHS, Betamax, CED VideoDisc and laserdisc in the early 80's. Copies can be found on eBay fairly...
And fix nasty little tape-related problems :-) My original VHS of "A Christmas Together" suffered from an unstable picture, and a nasty yellow tint. Running it through a TBC and the computer allowed me to fix both problems, and I was also able to dehiss the soundtrack. The DVD still looks...
Yeah, that's them :-) They were released on CBS/Fox's 'Playhouse Video' label, and I gather from older threads on this board that that's how they're usually referred to. I don't know where the 'Random House' thing came from - there's no mention of it at all on the one tape I own!
I'm trying to track down some information about these tapes, if anyone can help?
There were ten tapes in total, all of which were released on VHS (and, so far as I know, on Betamax) in the US. Six of them were also released on VHS in the UK by Virgin Video.
Were any of these tapes...
