Losing a major location to purchase these Muppet figures is pretty bad, but you're probably right. The figures only got a tiny bit of space in the action figure asile, but at Suncoast Video they had a ton of shelf space at the front of the store (they got more of them too)!
I'd love to see figures based on the Jim Henson Hour Muppets -- Digit, Lindy, Ubo, Wally, Zondra, etc. I don't know...I understand why they would be overlooked, they're pretty obsure...but they were part of the final show that Jim Henson was personally involved in.
Hey, I just thought of...
They look pretty sweet -- they must still be prototypes, however, seeing as how Link and Strangepork don't have the Pigs in Space insignia on their chests.
Well, put me down for another set. So poor...
;)
Well, it cost me nearly fifty bucks, but I tracked down a set of Series 2 figures yesterday -- including Animal w/ the Electric Mayhem stage!
Most Toys R' Us' got them -- and sold out -- of them over the snowstorm days in my area (Towson, MD). Still, I managed to find a Gonzo and Crazy Harry...
:D
Seriously though, I don't think anyone can answer this without having this thread closed/deleted. I'll just say this: it was a dirty, dirty, dirty, and hilariously funny comment.
I can't believe it myself...did anyone tape this? I'd love to hear (or even see this!) with my own eyes.
I've heard the song a few times on Muppet Radio and every time I scratch my head. I checked an online Turkish/English dictionary, but nothing came up. Has anybody figured this out, or is it just a nonsense word?
I've already posted my wish list for Moulin Scrooge figures here and here, so I'll just link to them rather than retype them both over.
Aside from them, I would love to see Doorman Bunsen, Steroid Beaker (MEEP! MEEP!), ravers Scooter and Sam, hipster Statler and Waldorf, and bartender Johnny...
Hey, beaker! Yeah, I figured that "Bad Andy" would be a decent username after reading that he was created by Jim Henson's workshop (the fact that many of the more familiar Muppets names were already taken also played a part, :p ). Finally, I loved those Dominos commercials, so that sealed the...
This isn't a Muppet-specific scene, but in The Muppet Movie I noticed that Mel Brook's mad scientist was so...uh...excited by the prospect of performing brain-work on Kermit that he provocatively tongues the start button on his machine.
Freaky.
ResidentLilly...
I was reading through several of your posts both here and over on the Palisades board and I must say this: thank you for taking the time to chat with us here. Sometimes I get the feeling that we're all like six-year olds grabbing your arm and begging you for specific figures...
I just realized something: would the purple-suited Gonzo have the dark maroon tux from the first season or the lighter purple tux from the later seasons?
I'd prefer the maroon version myself, but, hey, what do I know?
:p
I didn't forget Fozzie (I assumed that we all knew the Fozzie I was referring to), but thanks for mentioning Janice.
For the record, it would be Fozzie as Harold Zidler, Gonzo as Toulouse-Lautrec, Kermit as Christian, Piggy as Satine/Saltine, and Robin as the Green Fairy.
After watching the movie last night, I realized that I would pay big money for a "Moulin Scrooge" set of figures. Hypothetically speaking, you could package a big character with a smaller one (like Bunsen with the mechanical rabbit).
I could see it breaking down like this:
1) Kermit...
The story about Kami (South Africa's HIV-positive Muppet) and Haneen and Dafi (the Palestinian/Israeli Muppets, which appear on the Israel version) got me thinking: how else are the versions of Sesame Street different around the world?
Does anyone know of a website(s) that have information...
I saw them yesterday at Record and Tape Traders in Towson, MD. I would have bought them, but they were too expensive. I'm hoping this means that they'll be at Toys R Us within the week.
Stating the Obvious
Hmmm...let's take a gander at this list, then compare it to what we know from these forums...
Series Four
These are a lock -- we've already seen prototypes for Link and Sam. These aren't changing.
Series Five
Here's where things start to get hazy -- only Gonzo in...
I've haunted eBay, Half.com, and just about every mp3 Muppet site on the web, but these three songs elude me:
1) "Never on a Sunday" by Miss Piggy and the Pigs
2) "Saying Goodbye" by the Muppets (from TMTM)
3) "Show Me a Rose" by Rowlf the Dog
Is there any hope, or am I just out of luck?
