What an interesting thought. I was trying to think of something to compare this to, but that's hard, isn't it?
I was thinking of Mickey Mouse, and how very few people think of him as being a Walt Disney character. That is, they think of him as representing the Walt Disney Company, but not as...
Rowlf and Fozzie are a lot of fun together. And I really love Johnny and Sal. I think they're a major highlight for me in more recent Muppet productions.
One duo that gets over-looked often mainly because it really only happened during The Muppet Show is the pairing of Miss Piggy and Rowlf. I...
I really like Kermit and Piggy's relationship, but I think it gets old in the interviews sometimes. After all, they've been saying this since the 1970s. Kermit is no different in interviews about Miss Piggy now than he was when Jim was performing him. On Henson's Place, Piggy insisted they were...
Ah. Thanks. It just seemed kinda weird that they had such a long hiatus there.
One of the things I really enjoy about this season is seeing some of Steve Whitmire's early work with the Muppets. He was already very talented when he started, wasn't he? It's neat to hear all these voices and...
Another interesting note about production order, the time between the episode with Helen Reddy and the very next episode with Harry Belafonte is about six months. In that time, a lot of the main characters were rebuilt.
Wasn't there a strike or something during this season? I seem to recall...
I think the banter between Kermit and Fozzie about A Frog Is Born's not being on the set was one of the funniest interactions between the two since Jim and Frank. This was so great! I love Kermit and Fozzie.
:) :o
I had to read this a second time. Hillarious!
And I agree with you on the Kermit and Piggy thing. I like it, but I think it gets overdone.
Maybe for the next season the Electric Mayhem could go around promoting it. :D :sing: :flirt:
Well, I'm ready for season four. :)
My only complaint about the set, as with everyone else, is the box. I love the image of Fozzie's hat on the stool with the microphone (about the only image on the box that's really good). I wish they had used something a little more obscure like that on...
I know this isn't exactly the question, but I've never watched an episode of The Muppet Show for the guest star. And I don't know if I've ever thought, "Boy, I can't wait to see the Muppets work with that person!" But, there have been several I really, really like. One that comes to mind...
I don't know if I'd like to see a teenage Robin. I just don't know if he'd be Robin that way. I identify very much with the way Robin is in The Muppet Show, and I don't know if I'd personally like to see that big of a change in him. I do think change is good, and the evolution of a character is...
I don't know if anyone has a "Coconuts" store near them, but Season Two was in their top five last year (I almost think it was number two, actually). I bet Season Three could do as good.
*blink*
*blink blink*
O......K.
"That's the problem. We CAN see your cute little doublet."
"Yeah, and it ain't too little and it ain't too cute."
-Clifford and Bobo, Muppets Tonight
I remembered Jim yesterday by introducing a friend to "The Land of Gorch." It felt nice to correct his view of Henson as a children's entertainer.
Anyway, I respect and love Jim's work so much. He created characters that will never leave me. The Muppets helped my through everything. Jim's...
Hmm? IMDb had Cory Edwards listed as the writer of Doogal. Now I'm more confused. :p :insatiable: :batty:
EDIT: Whoops! My bad. He had additional voices in Doogal. Sorry!
By the way, I don't know if maybe you missed it, but my concern was that it's the writer of Doogal and Hoodwinked that is working on the Fraggle film, not just the Weinstein company... or maybe I'm misunderstanding your post.
People are already getting theirs? Dang! And I spent the money on one-day shipping.
(hoping it'll be here tomorrow so I can spend my weekend on it)
*sigh* My arrival estimate is for Wednesday. :(
It's not humor that concerns me either, entirely, though that is part of it. It's heart. I hope they are though. In good hands, that is.
