Disney had companies bid on the contract. The Muppet Workshop (which is now part of the Creature Shop, I believe) didn't have the lowest bid, and lost the contract.
Although, I think the word "doesn't" should appear in all capitals. Much more effective comedically.
"Gonzo DOESN'T appear on America's Got Talent"
Oh, and Gonzo showed up during Shakira's dance... it's just that nobody noticed. :flirt::flirt::flirt:
Just kidding... sadly.
Jamie, I...
Perhaps Disney could see our point of view with a more appropriate illustration ala Johnny Depp. At D23, we saw Johnny Depp arrived as Jack Sparrow. They could have hired a look-a-like, but they didn't. Johnny Depp IS Jack Sparrow. Now, how would Pirates of the Caribbean fans feel if Disney sent...
I basically agree with this. I signed the petition because I do want to know if everything's okay with Steve, but if I were to write a letter, it would include some of the following, I think:
If it was Mr. Whitmire's decision to end his career perfoming Kermit, I'll respect his decision. If...
If they're going to continue to serve fans crappy Kermit, why don't they just hire Will Forte and get it over with!
(... Will Forte played "Kermit" on an episode of SNL.)
He doesn't sound like Jim, he doesn't sound like Steve, he doesn't sound like Frank Welker, and he most certainly does...
I've been thinking of trying to get a friend of mine, who is a huge Pirates o' the Care-to-be-... I mean, Carribean - fan to watch MTI with me... dunno if he would.
... That's interesting!
Hiya, Jim!
Quick question... is Steve Whitmire okay? Sorry, but it's a question everyone's asking since he wasn't on America's Got Talent the other night.
Did Joey Mazzarino work on the script with Jerry Juhl or after he finished his? Anything I've read about Jerry Juhl's script would have been a great Muppet movie.
I enjoyed Muppets Wizard of Oz, but didn't go into it expecting much. I've enjoyed most everything I've seen that the Muppets have...
There were a few comments on writing before...
I agree that what's lacking is good writing. The last two major Muppet projects for television were written by newcomers, and Oz definitely failed because of it.
Rather than thinking "We need new writers and fresh talent" and fail with those...
It's funny. I think it was Brian Henson who pointed out that they started to perfect animatronics just as the technology was being replaced with CGI. When you watch the animatronics on Revenge of the Sith, they're really incredible! Much better looking than CGI, I think.
But... I think...
Well, Muppet Babies and The Muppet Show aren't part of the same canon. There really isn't any Muppet canon officially, but the two shows really don't fit together at all.
The Muppet babies were based on Miss Piggy's dream sequence in The Muppets Take Manhattan, so it could be argued that the...
