Anyone else notice the goof with Rizzo's voice? In an extended scene at the air port, Rizzo asks who would want to go to the North Pole. It's not Steve's voice (he was busy with Kermit). They never re-dubbed the line.
Anyhoodles, just wanted to point out one other thing... Sorry to drag the...
I'm sure Jim put work into most all of the Muppet movie stories, despite receiving no credit for it. He staged the rat cooking sequence in MTM without credit.
Hmmm. Doesn't sound much like Bill to me either. He was filming in Disney Land, though. Maybe a cold? (starting rumors again) or maybe they just forgot to dub the line ala Rizzo in both Muppet Classic Theater and LTS.
Great to hear Steve as Kermit again!
Haha! I said "Tear ON my eye." FunNEE!
The MuppetWiki article about The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made was changed recently to reflect what's been stated here. Everything's speculation. Articles presenting "facts" were nothing more than speculation.
... What's your favorite movie?
But seriously, if you were a tree...?
But seriously, seriously, Jim-Joe, I have a Muppet Classic Theater question. How did the three Elvises come about? I mean, obviously it's a great play on "elves," but that's not really what I mean. Great Moments in Elvis...
First Muppet movie/special to have someone on the side of the box other than Kermit to my knowledge (Season 2 and 3 of TMS don't count). And DEFFINITELY the first time it was...
Hmmm. Well, I don't think you could really say *everyone*. I think that mainly a lot of the arguing and trouble has been from a few... um... "louder" individuals who are more... "open" about their opinion?
I realize a few of my posts in these threads have reiterized previous comments, and I...
Well, I think Kevin's just trying to lighten the mood a bit.
I like the idea. Outlandish and unlikely, but I still like it. After all, Disney has already proven that they don't know how to recast a character like this. Why not let the Muppeteers decide?
I know one thing. I'd have the biggest smile on my face and a tear on my eye to see the credits read: Written by Jerry Juhl.
Wow, what a tribute that would be! To actually use whatever work Jerry put into it, and give him a credit and all of that. Fantastic!
I remeber watching the opening of the Academy Awards and thinking, "Ya know, I'm a fan of musicals... I should like this... but this song... really... really... sucks."
The only other part of the Oscars I watched was Best Supporting Actor to see if Heath Ledger would get it. I couldn't stand...
That... could be worrisome. Hopefully it won't effect any Muppet projects.
According to Muppet Wiki, Artie performed (and sang for) Kermit at D23. It was added by scarecroe, so it wasn't just some rumor added to the page.
I re-watched the video before looking this up, cuz it didn't sound...
Sarah, I don't think your post was too inflamed at all, but passionately and very well put.
Quite frankly, I have no idea who Artie even is! :p But, as Sarah said, for the most part I don't think people are bashing him. They're upset that Kermit wasn't Kermit. That's all.
I've had to...
It doesn't sound like Jim's Kermit to me. It sounds like Rich Little's Kermit (just realized who it reminded me of). I really did not like Rich Little's impersonation either.
Again, Kermit is a very difficult voice to do. What most people think to be Kermit is not. I have done my "Kermit"...
I disagree as well. I do not feel Kermit was off at all in MCC. Perhaps in a few appearances prior, but I think that from that film forward, Steve had Kermit, and he get better and better every day.
Kermit's appearances in commercials never turned him into an empty icon. Did Harrison Ford...
My fandom is not based on whether or not Steve continues to play Kermit (although he IS the obvious and best choice for the role). My fandom is based on whether or not Kermit is Kermit. AGT Kermit was not. VMA Kermit was not. Even Steve's first appearance as Kermit in The Muppets Celebrate Jim...
