I watched The Last Swing (the Fiama Brothers movie) last night. It's hilarious! And there's a sequel: The Fiama Brothers Play Fargo. It's all about the Fiama Brothers preparing for a performance of Fiddler on the Roof. "If I was dat rich guy..."
Funny stuff!
Best bit from The Last Swing...
Thank you, Fragglemuppet. :) And thanks to everyone reading this (and those of you reading who enjoy it).
HA! You have no idea how much I want to steal that from you right now. :p
Chapter 6
There was no living with Oscar anymore. He was ruining the street, and everyone knew that something had to be done.
Hooper’s Store was never as crowded as the day Gordon called everyone together to discuss this problem. Although this was so, nobody was buying anything…. which was...
The video is well over 12 million views now.
Oh, and, just wanted to show a post that was made about a half hour ago on the video:
"just too good. this is like a super nintendo covered in marshmellow sauce flying through your window and hitting you in the face while running earthbound."...
... Has a heterosexual relationship ever been depicted in the puppets of Sesame Street? I don't think it has, other than with more adult characters like Oscar and the Count.
To me, Ernie and Bert are first of all puppets, second of all, kids. They're just kids. If Ernie had a girlfriend, that...
I'm sure the Sesame Street creative team would be worried about it hurting viewership of the rest of the show. And I really don't think it would work as a seperate program. Then there's an entire show just about Elmo, rather than just an annoying smudge on a beautiful painting.
I don't really understand Twitter. I mean, what's the point? I like the idea of major companies being able to announce things quickly from it, as with the Henson Company and Muppet Studios, but otherwise... I guess I just don't get the point. I also don't understand the layout of twitter sites...
Agreed. I got the initial series, but forgot to order the first Robin Hood comic... and it sold out. Since then, the only issue I've bought is the Pigs in Space comic. Soooo, as soon as I have the money too, I intend to purchase the trade paper backs. I'd rather have those anyway.
OK. I'm sold, if for no other reason than that he passed up the chance to direct a Judd Apatow production to do it, and that's a huge thing in today's comedy world.
I was also hoping Kirk Thatcher would be involved in some way, which I'm sure he will. He's my favorite current Muppet writer...
As was mentioned, Sesame Street has parodied numerous "kid-unfriendly" films. Pirates of the Caribbean certainly wasn't a kids movie (though not as bad as Rocky Horror), but it became the Pirates of the Care-to-be-Readin'.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was R-rated, but became a Sesame...
Hmmm.
It's exciting to hear that they're making plans for the movie... but another TV director? Didn't they learn their lesson from Muppets from Space?
I was kind of hoping Frank would be the first one offered the job. Or Brian Henson. Anyway, very exciting to hear news about the project...
