New Monster On Ebay - No Name For Him!?

Finster? Wilby? Shackles? Lyndon? Fredrickson? Milroy? Name or not, this is another beautiful design. There's no other way to say it Jarrod, you really know what you're doing. Great job!

Big Bird on Ed Sullivan- What Music plays?

Can anyone tell me the name of the song that Big Bird performs to on the Ed Sullivan DVD? I'm pretty sure it's a Perry/Kingsley piece, just trying to find the title. Thanks.

    Early Gobo on Season 1

Watching the Season 1 DVD's, I noticed that Gobo appears in a slightly different design than what was finally settled on. What's wierd about this first version, is that he doesn't seem to have eyelids really, but some of his hair seems to be attached to the tops of his eyes, seemingly suggesting...

    Muppets' Arm Rods

I doubt the arm rods were removeable. As I understand it, most removeable arm rods don't perform the way puppeteers prefer. Most likely, since there were several puppets of each character made, there were probably some without arm rods. Frequently the puppets had heads that were detachable from...

    Blues Clues question

"...you could always do surgery on a plush toy blue , it already has the fur, and the nose, and you would just need to add a working mouth" This certainly seems like it would yield the best results.

Figuring out pattern shapes round body forms

One of the things I've had trouble with is figuring out what smaller shapes will create the larger body or head shape I'm going for. Take a look at the shapes in this photo. Now these are all uniform, and probably create a body that's fairly simple. But some get pretty complex. What I would...

Have any amateurs made Rod Puppets?

That's a cute looking design. And the clothespin didn't have too much tension to work?

Have any amateurs made Rod Puppets?

Just for amateurs, because I know that professionals have made some great rod puppets. I'm an amateur myself and am curious to get an opinion from others on how difficult it was for them. Nice cockroach. Does he have a mouth?

Have any amateurs made Rod Puppets?

Just curious if anyone who isn't a professional has tried their hands at making Rod Puppets. These are the ones that your hand doesn't fit into, it just controls the puppet from beneath. Examples of this style would be Rizzo or Pepe.

    Attaching Eyes?

Someone here mentioned filling the half ball with a little piece of foam cut to fill that space. Then you have more area to make contact with the puppets head. Haven't done whole balls myself, but if I had to guess, I would probably drill a small hole into the ball, insert a piece of wooden...

Making a puppet with Head and neck seperate from the body

Hmmm.... sounds like some snaps would do the trick. Thanks guys.

Making a puppet with Head and neck seperate from the body

Does anyone have advice for making a puppets head and neck sleeve seperate from the body? I know a good deal of the Muppets were done like this, with a long sleeve for the neck that fit into the body, and it seemed easier to me to tackle them one at a time. The only thing I haven't quite worked...

    Of Patterns and Arm Rods

I've used coat hangers before and while they are convenient, it's easy to make the hand or arm too heavy. The coat hanger will bow and bounce if this happens, and you have less control. I'm eager to hear what kind of metal rods others use and where they get them.

Adding arm rods to an existing puppet

The doll joint would be internal? I don't really need to remove teh arm rod. Would the doll joint idea be pretty sturdy if I put it inside? I don't want something that will come off to easy.

The future of Muppets without Antron Fleece

Good to hear. What little I read made it sound more dire. Glad that a substitute was found. Long live Muppet Fleece!:D
