Just finished watching it. So great! And "Just One Person" never fails to choke me up. The more I see of the Muppets in recent months, the happier I get. More please, Disney!
Not at this time. ;)
Of course, if I did have a secret identity as the host of a major late-night talk show, it would be a little self-serving of me to come in and pat myself on the back. Plus, I would have been so star-struck working with the Muppets that the whole show would have gone down...
I finally got a chance to see this (away from the Tivo or a good internet connection for a while). I thought it was fantastic! I loved that it was a treat for older fans who grew up with John Denver, but still legitimately funny in its own right for a general audience. LOVED Fozzie's...
I missed this game!
Michael Crawford was in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum with Zero Mostel.
Zero Mostel was on The Muppet Show with Kermit the Frog!
Next: Ronald Reagan
Woo hoo! I think we'd all agree that the Library of Congress couldn't have picked a more "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant" film. All that, and a massive pie in the face too! Now that's entertainment!
:)
I actually like Andy Samberg's Swedish Chef. Not for being a good impersonation--I don't think that's in any way what he's going for. I think it's intentionally stupid. It's like this big insipid caricature of a character who is intentionally ridiculous to begin with. :hungry:
Anyway...
I loved all of the Muppety goodness in the parade. And I'm all for having Kermit interact with whoever is the pop-star du jour. After all, it reminds people that the Muppets are part of the pop-culture landscape just as much as they were in the heyday of the Muppet Show. :)
Just got a chance to see this--what a great way to unwind after a very full day of holiday travel! So great to see so many of the gang there!
The bit at the end with Kermit was such a great gag. "They're not very productive." :):)
Now, off to watch it several dozen more times... Happy...
I'm one disc into the set now, and loving it! I really loved seeing "If I Knew You Were Coming..." I don't know if I'd ever actually seen this. I had the song on an old 8-Track when I was a kid, but it was Cookie Monster and the Count. I tracked that down on CD years ago and we used it at...
Ack, I missed Kermit! I was watching sporadically because I had to get ready for choir, and I must have checked out at that point. I'll have to go back and rewatch, because YAY KERMIT!
