I think part of the reason I never "outgrew" Sesame Street is that I always considered the characters my friends. I may not have needed the curriculum after a while, but you never outgrow your friends.
I'm getting my wallet ready. If there's a Last Crusade set with the temple of the grail (the treasury building from Petra), I think my little geeky brain will explode!
:excited:
I don't think there's any movie I'm looking forward to more than this one. Indy rides again! Bring it on! I'll probably bring my Adventure Kermit to the premiere.
:)
Uhhh . . . I choose not to insert bad jokes.
But I wouldn't be surprised if there were more than one box option. It's always nice to give collectors a reason to buy twice.
Wow--you know, I have a strong suspicion that was intentional. The music had a very bouncy Muppet Show theme feel, complete with final saxophone blaaat as the commercial ended.
Hmmmm.....
We were at Disney World two weeks ago, and we were actually saying how amazing it would be to have a Harry Potter park. I thought it would probably never happen. Next day, this was announced. Now I have a reason to go back to Orlando in two years!
I keep meaning to go back there everytime I go to Philadelphia. Maybe this summer. Looks like it would be worth the price of admission just to go to the gift shop!
Seriously, Weird Al and the Muppets appearing together would be the first step toward consolidating all of my Geekdoms. If you threw Star Wars and Star Trek into the mix, I might lose my mind.
You know, I bet he would have. I mean, later in life he might have had a different perspective on looking back, reflecting on past productions. Man, I would have loved to hear those thoughts!
That would be awesome. I've really liked the way the Futurama and Simpsons dvds have brought in multiple creative folks on each commentary to keep it lively and to tell stories from different perspectives, and I would love to see the same thing happen with the Muppet Show dvds.
I remember hearing about the Tall Tales show, but I never saw it. I think it was on a channel we didn't get. Maybe sometime I'll get the chance to check it out, maybe when I'm in a nostalgic mood. Glad to hear it was well-done.
We used to watch this all the time--my mom would rent them from the video store, and eventually bought a couple of the used copies on Beta when they were selling off their stock. I especially remember Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, and The Boy Who Left Home To Find Out About The Shivers.
