I noticed a trend in this forum:
Most of you guys have MEMORIZED the episode numbers to these shows!
There's a catalog of over 4000 shows now.
Either you have a lot of time on your hands or you've watched each episode a million times!
And I thought I was a die-hard fan, but that's...
Hi Muppet dude:
Could you tell me what's on the episodes that you listed above?
Believe me, I'm a die-hard fan, but I haven't gone as far as to memorize the episode numbers for each show! That's insane.
Just tell the year and synopsis for each episode.
Just a question for any Muppeteers here:
What's the secret behind the illusion of getting Kermit and/or Ernie to sip liquids through a straw?
What's the truth behind that magic trick?
Hi:
I was re-watching some old Ernie skits from the early 1970's,
(like the one where he tries to "even out" the rations of grape juice and pepperoni pizza slices with Bert)
and I was wondering:
HOW DID THEY GET ERNIE TO SIP GRAPE JUICE out of the glass???
In the MUPPET MOVIE...
Yeah, but really:
Kermit and Ernie are just extensions of Jim Henson's voice, and both sound VERY similar to each other.
Listen to: "Honker Donker Dinger Jamboree." Now picture Kermit singing it instead of Ernie. Totally plausible, right?
How about: "Moving Right Along" from the...
I figure it's somewhere in New York, but does anyone know?
I'm curious to see what it looks like, and to see if any fans have left anything there for the Master.
If someone were to blindfold you and then play you two soundbites - one with Ernie and one with Kermit the Frog - could you tell the difference?
I was sitting here in the bedroom while my daughter was watching Sesame Street in the den, and I could have sworn that Ernie sounded JUST like Kermit.
I can't really recall off the top of my head what happens in this episode, except that it's from 1969, and I believe a very young Bob shows some kids how to make shapes.
That's the best to my knowledge.
Oh, and back in 1969, they had THREE letter sponsors and TWO number sponsors, so...
And the D song that you mentioned that's on DO THE ALPHABET with Big Bird and Baby Bear is actually:
"Dee Dee Dee," from 1973, as sung by Ernie to a frantic Cookie Monster.
gbrobeck:
I'd like to trade you for the 1970 Mister Rogers episodes.
Here are the Unpaved episodes that I'd like to offer you. I don't know what letters and numbers sponsored each episode, nor do I know the episode number of each. But I can give you a synopsis of each:
1) Show #2 -...
And has anyone bothered to mention that:
Ernie's shirt and the color of his nose was different in the 1st season that the traditional red and blue sweater that everyone knows and loves today?
Remember 1969.
Farley.
Good old Jerry Nelson.
He appeared very early on....as early as 1970, I believe.
He can be heard on several Muppet albums, including the early track "Everyone Makes Mistakes" with Big Bird from 1970.
Somebody on Ebay built a custom Elmo puppet that's going for 299 bucks, starting bid.
It even includes arm rods and grips inside the mouth for the avid puppeteer.

Just wondering if anyone knew where I can get a copy of the end-credits version of the SESAME STREET theme song? You know, the famous one with the harmonica solo that was used from 1969 to 1992 and during the various endings (like Barkley playing with the kids in the park)?
There IS a copy...
This is a question I've had for a while.
I was wondering that since SESAME is a public television show that's funded by the government, I wonder how well the human actors do financially.
I wonder if they get paid scale, or if they get paid so little that they have to find something in the...
