A couple of months ago, I asked if the D song is on any
recordings and the answer seemed to be no. I mean the
song that has the weird animation and goes "Daddy
dear, oh, Daddy dear, do dogs have dreams, do ducks
have ears" and so on. Was it released on video? I've
just discovered a new video in which Big Bird teaches
Baby Bear (not a character from my day lol) the alphabet
and there's a D song on it. Is that the one and is the
animation shown on it or on any other video?

No. I watched the D song/animation with the dandylions with the lion's heads (!) and daisies wearing real feet (!) and dogs having dreams and ducks having ears on Sesame Street Unpaved at the Museum of Radio and Television last November of 2002. It's on episode #536. Too bad it's no longer on American TV anymore, because SSU has been gone forever. AND, the new Noggin block was from 6AM to 6PM and the N block was from 6PM to 6AM.

BTW, I believe that the "Daddy Dear" animation/song is never on video.

And the D song that you mentioned that's on DO THE ALPHABET with Big Bird and Baby Bear is actually:

"Dee Dee Dee," from 1973, as sung by Ernie to a frantic Cookie Monster.
