That's weird.
Because there are only 2 little girls on the pilot of Sesame Street.
One is Sally, played by Holly Robinson-Peete, of "21 Jumpstreet" and also real-life daughter of the late Matt Robinson, who played the original Gordon from 1969-1971.
The other girl, a blonde, seems older...
I have to vouch for the original poster who said that Bert IS crying in this sketch.
At the end, after Ernie has destroyed Bert's day by dressing him up for the beach, the skit ends with Bert sobbing on the sled.
WHY? I don't know. Maybe Frank Oz was on drugs then.
Well, since Linda Bove no longer is listed in the end credits of SESAME STREET now, I think it' s a sure bet that production costs have weeded out all secondary cast members.
Either that, or she grew tired of a role she's been playing since 1971. But, considering her role in the hearing...
If you guys want to see more of the JAZZY SPIES/RACECARS cartoons,
then, I suggest you go on Ebay and do a search for:
THE SESAME STREET BOOK OF NUMBERS, copyright 1970 from Time Life Books.
basically, this was part of a really old 5-book series of psychedelic 1969 Sesame Street shows...
I know exactly which skit you're talking about.
It's from a 1969 episode, and I remember it because the dark purplish Anything Muppet boy has, what would eventually become, Big Bird's standard voice. (kinda feminine, boyish).....Carroll Spinney obviously supplies his vocals.
It's funny...
Other people pictured on the cover that weren't around in 1970:
Luis
David
Hal Miller as Gordon
Herry
BASED on how Big Bird looks and the fact that Hal Miller is present in the picture, I'd say the photo was taken around 1972-1973.
I just won this SESAME STREEET 1 - ORIGINAL CAST RECORD on Ebay, even though I already have THE SESAME STREET BOOK AND RECORD and SESAME STREET GOLD!
The cover art alone is worth it, in my book, since it shows Sesame Street back in the 1970's.
Plus, I find the set-up quite odd, actually...
I know which skit you're talking about. The triangle and square dancing on a yellow background. It's meant to teach shapes and friendship.
I just saw it on one of the old SESAME STREET's from 1969
- I think it's on "Oscar's Birthday Cake"
Although I don't know the music source...
The AB DE building behind the arbor was a building (of course painted on a backdrop), with the AB DE as either as a sign that was partially obscured or graffitti.
My favorite scenes are with Oscar, cause for some reason, they used the OLD trash can set from 1970-1974 when they shot this 1978 special.
For the record,
Oscar's trash can set up has changed over the years:
1969 - his can was on a grey box next to a blue box
1970-1973 - his can was on...
Wow. 14, huh?
That means you were either born 1988 or 1989, the year Maria and Luis got married and had Gaby.....SESAME STREET's 20th year.
MAN! I can remember watching SESAME back in 1975.
It's too bad, you should have seen SESAME back when they had bellbottoms and beehive hairdos...
Courage-Bagge:
WELL DONE. You could be a set designer or stage manager for the show, you know so much!
How about Oscar's trash can area? Notice any differences over the past 34 years?
How about the mailbox or the lamppost?
