Believe it or not, SESAME STREET had a Hispanic character named Miguel (kind of a Luis-prototype handyman) played by Jaime Sanchez in the second season (1970-1971).
I have an old black-and-white 16mm episode from 1970 with him in it, and I also have the Time Magazine article from Nov. 1970...
Cookie:

The merchandise consists of the usual cups, penants, stickers, some Gund dolls, and something cool, an exclusive 6 pack of PVC SS figures that come with a cardboard Sesame Street set that you can place them on. Look for it.
Just don't feel weird going without kids. If your friends ask you...
I went with my kids....It was pretty good as far as SESAME STREET LIVE shows go.
Big Bird starts the show with "Somebody Come and Play," and they DO sing the Sesame Street theme right after.
Alright BEAR,
Here are two more SESAME STREET ice cream-themed recipies you should try:
1) Ernie's famous ice-cream soda (from 1973):

2) Ernie's fake chocolate ice cream (favorite of Oscar's) (from 1970): with mashed up bananas, chocolate...
I had the pleasure of meeting Karen at my workplace recently, and she is the most engaging person to talk with.
Of course, i was starstruck, being an animator and knowing both her animation and puppeteering work, but she is VERY modest about her many accomplishments.
A wonderful lady.
Actually, the briefcase set for Oscar's can was only used once in 1978 for Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, mainly because they had to take down/put back Oscar from his stoop and the other set up (the crate/barrel) doesn't allow for that as easily.
This sketch appeared on the very first episode of THE ELECTRIC COMPANY in 1971.
Here's the sketch: (You can thank me later!)

Actually, he went on a rampage in Nashville, Tennessee. I remember, cause I still have the newspaper clipping from my hometown Nashvillian newspaper that has the headline: "David from 'Sesame Street'" disrupting the town.
Another piece of trivia- he died in Nashville. So maybe Northern...
I thought the special was a complete half-***** effort.
I mean, it's the equivalent of one of those Family Ties "clip" shows where it's 5 minutes of story and 20 minutes of flashbacks.
For effort, I give it a D-. And more negative points for making Oscar the central character. No...
That's really cool looking. If it's the OLD Sesame Street set, I wonder if they have a scale model of Matt Robinson in there somewhere.
Hey, any way of getting more pics of this, or at least of the 123 brownstone?
Pretty useless talking about pictures we can't even see.
I'm happy for you, dude, but don't you realize we're all envious of you and would rather see it than read about it?
