    Avenue Q on Broadway

I've heard that several of the NY-based Muppet performers are supposed to be in the cast. Rick Lyon is (or was before at least) and built the puppets I believe.

    New Muppet Show!!!

It might not be dead yet, we heard about "The Tick" and "Greg the Bunny" for ages before they eventually showed up on Fox. Shame they didn't stick around longer.

Goodbye SARS, hello Rock N Roll History!

We survived Toronto! Seriously, that's a T-shirt that's selling on Yonge Street here. SARS? Check. Mad cow? Yup. West Nile? Yeah, we've had that one too. SARS? Well, yes, we had it again, but that's all history now. To help Toronto recover from the damage the SARS scare caused (and it...

    Making spheres

Well they're not really patterns, but, yeah I kinda do! The URL is http://www.geocities.com/angrypuppets/tumbles_project.htm.

    Harry Potter Film News (Spoilers)

Er, Cho was in the 3rd book? I don't remember her (but I read it two years ago). Anyway, I think she is a minor character so they can probably get away with it. Then again, X-Men has done a nice job of setting up (potential) future characters with cameos. No reason why they couldn't do it with...

    Harry Potter Film News (Spoilers)

Most Potter fans probably know Gary Oldman is playing Harry's God Father Sirius Black in the next Harry Potter movie. A photo of Gary Oldman in costume turned up recently on the net. Click here if you want to check it out. Cheers!

    COMIC STRIP COMPLAINT, Etc.

I believe "Bloom Country" ended a decade or more ago. "Outland" followed it up, but that was retired several years ago too, wasn't it? If either of these are still running in papers, its because they are reruns, like Peanuts.

    Butterick Patterns

Ebay is probably your best bet for finding the patterns. There is an old thread discussing finding the patterns on ebay here.

    Doing Special Effects Yourself

There's a simple "freeware" blue screen program available called Blue Screen of Life. You can get all info about it here. I haven't used it, but maybe it would work for you. Otherwise, I usually recommend Adobe After Effects, but that costs several hundred dollars. Many video editing programs...

Whatever happened to The Puzzle Place?

Not sure exactly when/why Puzzle Place went off the air, but most kids shows are only produced for five years. The reasons are mostly economic. At the five year mark there are enough episodes for a series to be endlessly repeated daily. The cost of producing shows goes up every year while TV...

    Dicken's puppeteering

Well, to be true to the period you would probably want to do something Victorian. A Punch and Judy show comes to mind, but there were other forms of puppetry popular in that era in England as well.

"Little Shop" returning to Broadway after all!

Thanks for posting this - that's awesome news! I'll be in NYC at the beginnning of September so I will be able to catch it! :excited:

    Ready to add links

Nice site! As for links, I think the standard issue puppetry links are: - Puppetry Homepage - Puppeteers of America and of course.... - Muppet Central (there are some spiffy link banners you can use here). You could always add a few of the sites I do work for that are puppetry...

The oldest TRICK in the book: HOW DO Muppets SIP LIQUIDS through STRAWS?

Another trick I have seen is specially rigged prop glasses/cups that have a liquid between to layers of glass (the glass or cup appears to be full). When the glass is tilted (say, to a puppet's lips) the liquid appears to empty from the cup, but it's really collecting in the bottom or top of the...

    COMIC STRIP COMPLAINT, Etc.

FBOFW was actually made in to an animated series several years ago. Not sure if it was an "original" series or a collection of specials (like the Peanuts/Snoopy TV show that turns up every few years). It was aired in Canada on Teletoon and it must have been on in the US somewhere because...

    MC's acting funny

I thought of the memory issue, so I tried it at work where I have some unholy amount of memory like 500mb (only 20% was in use) and still ran in to the image loading problem. Interestingly enough Jamie, that "/" at the end of the URL does the trick. Anyone have any idea what causes that?
