Hey Jarrod,
Did you carve him or is he sheet foam? I know you like to carve your puppets, but if you did use sheet foam, what type of mouth grip did you design?
He looks great by the way. As I have said before, I like your design sense. Nice choice of colours.
Hey James,
There is an update at the botton of the post (the red lettered title) that states the link no longer works and to email Andrew directly. You can email him at:
puppetvision AT gmail dot com
Hope that helps.
Hey RavageFrackle,
I want to be totally clear. The bear puppet and the others in The Longhouse Tales are not my puppets. I am really not sure who built the bear puppet.
To the best of my knowledge Vicki Veenstra did some work on the puppets as well as a hand full of other established...
Ah yes "Sizziling Kung Fu Mice". I have only seen screen shots. It looks technically beautiful (perhaps even more appealing to my taste than the great look of "Big Big World"; which I think looks great in its own right).
Any idea who? I will do some asking around and find out if you don't...
Hey RavageFrackle,
This project looks amazing! I love the puppets (which is not always the case even with really well made puppets). They have a soft look but are taking a bit of a design step away from that classic "Muppety look".
I have been developing some show ideas with the use of...
Yes, Buck there is a website.
Here it is.
She has some amazing pictures, including one that give some insight into how she sculpts her puppet heads.
I love her work.
I am actually not that upset. Hey, things happen.
I haven't heard back from the company that was doing the editing. I am not sure that I will either.
I may end up going with someone else to do the re-edit if I don't hear back soon (which has been a part of why things have taken sooooo...
Thanks for the input Buck and Bezalel.
I combined that input with my own thoughts, opinions from friends and family, and I decided that my next Project Puppet (using the Punto pattern) will be of Chewbacca.
Wish me luck.
Oh bother.
I wrote all about this on my blog, but basically I found out that the footage that I had being worked on for over a year has been completely/accidentally deleted by the company.
Heart breaking.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?
My project is called Chimp TV and you...
Really Nice Jarrod!
I am a big fan of your work. It is great to see you trying new things. I just did my first exposed foam puppet as well. Your design senibility is what I like so much.
In my experience, I have met many really good builders. However there are a few things that can...
Hey shtick,
Check out what Noreen Young does (here). You can order her how-to video. It doesn't go into Caricature Puppets specifically, but if you already have that talent for drawing, it might help bridge the two skills.
Great job Wes!!
Jose is super excellent. Those pigs have a cool and unique style to them and I really like the nerd's glasses.
Keep up the great work.
:)
Hey Kathy,
Just so you know the fleece I used for Maurice is your fleece as well. So you have another Georgia Stage antron fleece puppet in the contest.
Guess what!? I was trying to post this last night because I built the Maurice puppet in that contest and I just received an email yesterday as well.
It looks like we both have "one of our babies" in the contest. I have already voted.
That would be fun, but I see how it would need alot of modifications. It might even work better with the Rotondo pattern and a small attachment at the bottom for the mouth (since it would need a bunch of modifications anyways and the top of the head seems to have a round shape to it)...
Hey Buck,
Which cantina bad guy did you mean? Any picture link?
I must admit I am actually interested in creating a more identifiable character, not really a background alien (not yet). I am not ruling this idea out, but right now Chewbacca is sounding like a good possibility. Any...
New question for anyone...
I am now wanting to use the Punto pattern to make a Star Wars puppet character. The shape lends itself to a few characters off the top of my head.
1) is Chewbacca
2) is the jedi Master Ki-Adi Mundi
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to the next...
