I did a Chewbacca awhile back using a similar shape (not the Punto pattern though) and it worked out very well.

What about the Cantina band guys? That could work, with a few modifications.
Hey Buck,

Which cantina bad guy did you mean? Any picture link?

I must admit I am actually interested in creating a more identifiable character, not really a background alien (not yet). I am not ruling this idea out, but right now Chewbacca is sounding like a good possibility. Any other ideas will be considered as well.

Thanks for your input.

Everybody knows the Star Wars Cantina band! Here's a link to a few pics - http://www.starwars.com/episode-iv/bts/article/f20030502/img/modalnodes_bg.jpg

I don't have access to the photo of the Chewie I made earlier this year, but when I do I'll post it.
That would be fun, but I see how it would need alot of modifications. It might even work better with the Rotondo pattern and a small attachment at the bottom for the mouth (since it would need a bunch of modifications anyways and the top of the head seems to have a round shape to it).

Definately a consideration for a future puppet. I might want to make the whole band.

Thanks for the input Buck and Bezalel.

I combined that input with my own thoughts, opinions from friends and family, and I decided that my next Project Puppet (using the Punto pattern) will be of Chewbacca.

Wish me luck.
