Well I know that people have been wondering about Project Puppet patterns. I have been wondering as well. I just finished my first attempt at using their patterns. I must admit that the instructions were easy to read and the final product was exactly as planned.

You can see the puppet here.

I am planning on doing a few more puppets and I will post them here when I am done.

Its not a ProjectPuppet.com puppet. Its YOUR puppet made with a projectpuppet.com pattern. (I know thats obvious but its just the way that sounded.)

By the way. Your puppet it frickin awesome. I'm curious, how did you make the pupils? They're very precise. I've always had trouble with "The Magic Triangle".

Hey thanks Buck-Beaver, MGov, Phantom and Shtick for the positive words about the puppet.

Thanks Shtick, for being an advocate on my behalf. Yes, I do acknowledge that it is a puppet that I have created and that I used the basic pattern from ProjectPuppet.com (but I added a bunch of stuff to make it mine). In fact much of the changes I made are not noticable to the eye, but have to do with internal changes to the design and my personal comfort when making/wearing a puppet.

The pupils are made from electrical tape (which comes in different colours). I couldn't find yellow, so I painted some white and used that. I just use a hole punch (could have traced a circle and cut it out with scissors also) and cut out the tape. You have to put the tape on to sticker backing first so that it will come off like...well...a sticker.

As for the eyes, I don't use "the magic triangle" formally. I just use my own judgement and play around with positioning before I commit to anything. If it doesn't look right, I pull it up and restick them.

Very cool, Blink!

Darth Maul has made an excellent addition to the gallery. Thanks for sharing your skill and ingenuity with all of us.

New question for anyone...

I am now wanting to use the Punto pattern to make a Star Wars puppet character. The shape lends itself to a few characters off the top of my head.

1) is Chewbacca

2) is the jedi Master Ki-Adi Mundi

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to the next character I should tackle? Please consider the shape of the pattern.

Thanks.

I did a Chewbacca awhile back using a similar shape (not the Punto pattern though) and it worked out very well.

What about the Cantina band guys? That could work, with a few modifications.
