unfortunetley no, i auditioned in the fall, but they were only looking for like two or three, and they really needed female performers, i am friends with several people who were involved, one actually is directing a few episodes as well as performing, , as for looking like bear , the creator of the hsow is the same guy who craeted Bear in the big blue house, , Mitchell Kriegman, they are beutifal puppets , looks like a great show, not something i would be able to sit through and watch but alot of these pre school shows simply dont hold my attention any more, but the designs and puppest are great

Hey RavageFrackle,

This project looks amazing! I love the puppets (which is not always the case even with really well made puppets). They have a soft look but are taking a bit of a design step away from that classic "Muppety look".

I have been developing some show ideas with the use of green screen and table top puppetry (like the Book of Pooh). Does this show use some of those elements?

Also, isn't that "Oko" puppet the same puppet use in "The Monkey King" video stuff done by Shadow Projects?

Did Puppet Heap (as a company) build the puppets? Or some artists who work with/at Puppet Heap?

I can't wait to catch a few shows, and with the birth of my son I have a more socially acceptable reason to watch kids puppet shows (other than my old simple reason of, "I just like them").

Thanks for the post RavageFrackle!

Yes , its sort of become Kriegmans, trademark, he was going to use the same tech. on the Monkey King show, and on a project called "Sizziling Kung Fu Mice" that never came to fruition, he also produced Book Of Pooh,

possibly not sure, i think it might be based off those designs, but i thik the shop that did this build worked from scratch, but it is possible i guess,

some artist who work thier i think they may have done some initial designs work, and i know one or two builders who were involved also work thier but thats all, the build was headed up by someone in Canada who is a Muppet Workshop, alumnis

Ah yes "Sizziling Kung Fu Mice". I have only seen screen shots. It looks technically beautiful (perhaps even more appealing to my taste than the great look of "Big Big World"; which I think looks great in its own right).

Any idea who? I will do some asking around and find out if you don't know off hand. There are some amazing builders up here in Canada.

Here is a full body puppet that was made for a show called "The Longhouse Tales". It reminds me of the sloth puppet in Big Big World, I think they are both beautiful.

Vicki Veenstra is a builder up here (scroll down the link page to see her bat puppets). Is she the one? I'm not sure if she is a Henson allumnis or not.

At any rate it is all very exciting to see the artistry in puppet building and production quality of the Big Big World project. Great stuff!

Hey RavageFrackle,

I want to be totally clear. The bear puppet and the others in The Longhouse Tales are not my puppets. I am really not sure who built the bear puppet.

To the best of my knowledge Vicki Veenstra did some work on the puppets as well as a hand full of other established Candian builders.

The project called "The Longhouse Tales" is not my project either. I just know some of the people who were involved with the puppet builds. It currently airs up here in Canada on the APTN network.

I just wanted to point out some of the beautiful puppets that we have up here, that are sometimes missed by those outside of Canada. Sorry for any confusion.
