Great job Sean. Kevin was dynamite, but I really appreciate your character's calmness, it really helps to make Kevin's performances stand out. Kind of like an offensive lineman in football, these efforts can sometimes go unnoticed.
Hey thanks for the posts dsarver and Luke.
And Luke, I am planning on sharing more about Chimp TV over the next several months as I try to fulfill a self imposed deadline for different aspects of this project.
Christmas break is here and there is some time to do things I have wanted to do, so I will try my very best to post the tutorial soon. There are actually lots of pictures, that I have.
Hi All,
I am going to be self serving in this post (at least I am admitting it). I have always chosen to keep things quiet until they are done, but since I have been working so long on my Chimp TV project and very little has been done, I have decided to put it out in the open and share...
It was an interesting article that John wrote. It reminds me that I have never put up my step by step attempt at a realistic (although I admitted to the client that it would have cartoonish characteristics; and I was told that was fine), cat puppet/prop. Anyways, John's puppet appears to be...
Hey erniebert1234ss,
It is created by Brian Hogg (Mr. Hogg here on the forum). He posts updates here all the time. His blog is quite interesting and updated fairly regularly. If you read the cast and crew you can see who is involved. I'm helping out and it is a blast.
Hey ChinoXL,
I personally don't believe that seeing a puppeteer affacts the quality of the character or performance. A good puppeteer can emote whether fully visable or not.
However if it is a technical question, like "Should we see puppeteers during a video/film shoot?", then I would...
Wes,
Great job buddy! I love all the different looks, but I like #7 the best. That is probably in big part to the fact that it reminds me so much of the Jim Henson Muppet, which is one of my favourite Muppet puppets. All the options look great though.
Congrats! It is a well deserved post on "Make". To tell the truth I didn't even know my puppet was on this site. Thanks for the heads up, and again, congrats on your great puppet being posted on the Make site.
Hey RubbeRoomStudio,
I must thank you for taking the time to tell me that. Those are the comments that make my joy of puppet building even stronger. I am glad I/my puppet could be a source of inspiration.
I love your puppet (by the way)! No doubt your puppet/you will inspire someone...
Hey Teenager's,
That is a great sculpt!
Can I offer some unsolicited advice?
I know you are covering it with fur, but my two cents is to take the time to smooth out the sculpt more (I know you feel you don't need to but it can make a difference). Depending on the fur you...
Thanks Pladypus. I think it is a great idea as well. The difficultly is getting it up and running smoothly. As ravagefrackle said, I am not paying anyone. So asking for a weekly post from them is tough. I think as soon as we get enough people to contribute or at least people get into the...
Hi pladypus,
Welcome. The thing about puppet new blogs is that they are still "blogs". Everything you read has been written by a person from their perspective. I have a blog, but it only deals with news about me and my company. There is indeed a wealth of information on puppetry, but not...
