Speaking of misnaming, I once watched the Columbia/Tristar version of TMM on DVD with the subtitles on (to clarify misheard lines). And the subtitle-makers goofed: When Kermit talks to Lew Zealand ("I told you, Lew..."), the subtitles misname him as "Luke." Looks like I'm not the only one...
I am sorry if this thread is poorly timed, but I have two questions regarding the recasting of Muppet characters (Sesame, TMS, or otherwise).
I have been noticing a pattern regarding these recasts: With a few exceptions, it is common knowledge that Eric Jacobson has acquired most of the Frank...
Hello. I want some more information on a pull-string talking Big Bird doll from around 1989. All I have is a home video of me recieving one on Christmas that year at the age of 1. Here's what I know so far:
Big Bird is about 24" tall
The two phrases I can remember (on the video) include...
I was going to say the Fletcher Bird, but one question--
Is Mr. Fletcher still alive? That bird would be nothing without Mr. Fletcher's fancy footwork, IMHO.
In the "Scarborough Fair" number of the Paul Simon episode, the Sherrif of Nottingham (Link) arrests Paul for "Playing a lute without a license." How could he be arrested for just playing a musical intrument?
In an early Season 1 episode of TMS, Kermit says "Think about this, folks." and drinks a glass of milk (with a straw, of course).
I've though about it and still don't get it (though I have a vague idea of how they got Kermit to drink the milk).
Someone once said (in another thread) that Piggy was actually patterned after Peggy Lee, that if you added pig ears and a snout to a photo of Miss Lee she'd resemble the original Piggy puppet. Not sure if this is true or not.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I was thinking of sketching some "new" Muppet Babies myself. But I wanna know which characters you wanna see. Here's some I was thinking about (out of those who were not already posted in the images earlier in the thread):
-Crazy Harry
-Lew Zealand
-Marvin...
Mine include the songs from the four episodes I had on tape when I was little-- "Rocket to the Stars," "Keep Your Animal Clean," "The Wizard's Gonna Make It Right" and "Wishes Have a Way of Coming True."
While they're at it, the folks at the Mouse House should see if they can hunt down a copy of the 10-minute crew gag reel that was posted on YouTube recently and include it as a bonus feature.

While most of the major Muppet characters have been seen with legs on occasion--whether it be on screen or in merchandising--there are some characters who have NOT been seen with legs. I am trying to populate a list of these characters.
I think the lighting has some influence as to whether we percieve his hair as pink or red. But I also think it has to do with what materials the workshop has available, right?
One more question--if the cancelled series Muppets High was further developed to the point where it eventually hit the airwaves, would Skeeter be present in the cast like she is in MB?
Yesterday I was browsing a second-hand music shop and I found a fragment for a box for a "Muppet Sound" Tap Drum Kit.
I don't have a picture, but the words "Muppet Sound" was in the same font as the TMS logo (with Kermit's head coming out of the "O" in "sound." There is also an illustration of...
