Okay, relax...I wasn't criticizing you using Muppets from other shows. And no, I would not cast Piggy as Annie. i would probably cast her as Hannigan...eh, maybe Grace. How would you cast Annie?
Okay... I was not aware that we were mixing the Classic Muppets with Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock. It is a little weird for this game but okay. I guess I would change a lot of these that we have already doen then. But why would you cast Miss Piggy as Mrs. Darling and Kermit as Mr...
Actually, I think we are both right and we are both wrong. She moved to Sesame Street in 1974, making her about 24 years old at the time. So, you are right to say she was not technically a "teen" but many sources still refer to her as one. Nonetheless, she was still a kid, and we basically...
I wanted to start discussing more the music (new and classic) of Sesame Street. I know that songs have been discussed in other boards and threads, but the discussions there seems to have gone stale or old, or no one has posted in some time. So I am hoping that we can start fresh here.
I...
Cookie's original performer, Frank Oz, is indeed still living. Unfortunately, he has just recently left Sesame Street to pursue other career oportunities. David Rudman has taken over playing Cookie. Maybe that was a subtle character thing that Rudman oversaw. Its amazing how we as an...
Nice ideas, Jonathan, but I don't think that it is a good idea to separate Statler and Waldorf. Either they should both play a character (as in MCC) or don't use them unless they play themselves. S and W have a very specific role in Muppet stuff that can't be tampered with. Even if you just...
Although another bit of info from the same source says this..."Snuffy was originally played by Jerry Nelson, but the costume hurt Jerry's back so much that he had to give up the part to Marty Robinson. Robinson has been playing Snuffy for over 18 years."
you know what's funny? My friends and I used to come up with Muppet casts of the shows that we were doing at the time. The "Peter Pan" Muppet cast I felt was pretty good. It went something like this:
Peter Pan: Kermit
Wendy: Miss Piggy
John: Scooter
Michael: Rizzo
Captain Hook...
I agree with some of you. It does depend on the audience that you are in front of. It is late late night comedy (for adults), not daytime. Also...Kermit is an adult, as are Miss Piggy, Oscar, Gonzo, and some others. Remember in The Great Muppet Caper during the fashion show scene?:
Statler...
Gordon and Susan WERE the parental figures on the show to the Muppets childlike characters, while Maria (as a teenager in the 70s) was like the big sister figure that was sorta passed on to Gina later on. I think that Roscoe Orman truly created the character of Gordon. He seemed to be the...
Oh come on! I am one of Sesame Street's biggest supporters and protectors, and I think Conan using Sesame Street in his comedy bits is fine. Its only a little joke and it is funny because of how obsurd it really is to see the characters in that way. I am sure the folks at Sesame Workshop...
