Believe me guys, for as much of a Disney fan as I am they too can bug the heck out of me. But as I said, I just don't think this is their fault.
Watching the Muppets since Jim's death has been sad actually. The Decline of The Henson company was more than just the decline of the muppets, it...
I understand that frustration of the thread but I also disagree with it.
For starters, the Muppets problems are not because of Disney. They all started in 1990 when Jim Henson died. The team lost its leader and frankly its greatest and most creative member. From there problems were magnified...
I remember the media push this received back in the day. This was a continuation of the 80's/Reagan war on drugs campaign. It was actually a brilliantly conceived plan: make a cartoon featuring many of the top cartoon characters of the time, feature the President and First Lady (unheard of) and...
One reason I filed it under a constantly churning rumor.
Though it is cool to see so many people who get the newsletter. I primarily get it to keep up with my Disney Comics hobby, specifically Scrooge and the Ducks.
In what is a constantly churning rumor:

This and Real Ghostbusters are probably two of the most rumored shows to be coming to DVD in box set format.
They are probably the last two "Must have's" that remain for me in...
I think it holds up better than most actually because there's a def. thought process behind it.
Personally I find that it hold's up far better than other shows released on DVD from the 80's: Transformers, He-Man, Mario Bros., Zelda, ect.
Heck I was actually quite impressed with how well...
My follow-up question would be, what is the "life expetancy" of one of these replicas? In other words, does the product walk a bit of a fine line? On the one hand it needs to look good and appear as an accurate replica of Kermit, one the other hand it is designed to be adjustable so that Kermit...
It's weird, the first pics I saw seemed to be the best. These and the one's from ToyFair (at action-figure.com) haven't impressed me as much.
it seems more plush like now and the face seems just naturally more inclined to look depressed rather than happy.
I'm certainly interested in the...
I'm still stoked, I'm not looking for perfection.
The thing is that these replica's have to be reasonably mass produced, and you're not going to get God's gift to merchandise for a couple of hundred dollars.
Personally I think Muppet fans don't realize quite how good they've got it right...
It's really one of the last must have's for me.
I'd like Real Ghostbusters on DVD in season sets (not this random stuff) and Muppet Babies. Those are my last two must have's.
That seems right for where I lived as well (later timeslot in its last season).
I also remember the older Superman Cartoon and Pound Puppies that's going back into the 80's at this point. There were a few cartoons I liked that are pretty obscure like that. CBS really did have a good lineup...
I dunno I'm still thrilled about this coming out. It's something I've wanted for a long time and for me it just doesn't cheapen the value of anything. I know as a fan community we tend to be very protective and sometimes even negative, but I'm thrilled with all the muppet stuff coming out...
This falls under the great mysteries of Saturday Morning cartoons section. It's actually something that the internet has given new life to recently. There's even a place that has an old TV guide listing of the lineups, though it's hard to read. I do miss Saturday morning cartoons and I think...
I've always found 80's remakes hard to swallow.
Some of them were pretty borderline in their original state (even though I consider myself a fan), but they were kind of one shot deals.
Care Bears, He-Man, Thundercats, Transformers, etc. I just could never get into other incarnations of them.
I think people still take The Muppet Movie's "This is how the Muppets met, more or less" message a bit too literal.
Just like Piggy and Kermit weren't really married in MTM, there is no definitive origin of the muppets. It's not Star Wars or something along those lines with a set history...
