I like the rock comment. Reminds me of the homer "medicial marijuana" episodes.
"Could God himself microwave a burrito so hot that even he himself could not eat it"
I dunno i believe in God and Jesus but i have a wait and see attitude with how it all works out. I have enough time...
Dont i know it. I cant tell you how many times sit there and go "why the heck did they even bother?"
As for the turtles while i do appreciate it being closer to the original comics, its just not working for me.
I think the original series started off pretty good, but like the toys went...
Whats sad for all of us {myself included} is that we are essentially discussing a childrens show as if it were the lost play of Shakespeare.
I think it's a testamant to how much the world vsn work you over that we even question one of the staples of our childhood rather than appreciate it for...
Ya know i think i'd be pretty content having the series just be rerun for that matter. I'll tape it myself. That's where the problem is. It's been so long that no one really has a descent collection on video and you simply cannot find any mpegs.
I dunno it might make sense when you think about.
The older audience is the focus, however "nastalgia" is in right now. While the push for younger stuff wont be huge, its a way to test the waters. Older people remember it and it gives them a chance to focus on a younger crowd which undeniably...
Pepe is really the key to a new generation. I dont know how many of you are college aged but his lines are what people remember in my age group. Those lines where you just laugh or tease someone with. Especially out west. Smack you like a bad, bad donkey is a mainstay here in Vegas =)
I do...
He was very straightforward with his style. Fact was that he didnt want to take the focus away from the characters. But if you look, his style serves its purpose. Sometimes directors get so caught up in being cutesy that it's like "can i just watch the dang movie".
I think Jim Henson knew...
Muppet Family Christmas. Seeing Jim Henson in the kitchen brings a tear to me eye because of the gift he left this planet. I never met him, i wish i did, but if there was ever a person in history who inspired me to go against the grain and just create for the joy of creating, it was him.
I dunno i could see them releasing the series. The DVD format makes it so much easier to do that now. The show ran for what? 100 episodes? If they do 25 on each, that is five volumes. NEVER underestimate the power of nostalgia. Those kids who watched the show {like myself} are now entering, or...
Of course it is always possible that the muppets were always actors and the muppet movie was their "movie" about making it big. If you want to make that argument than the muppets take manhattan could also be considered their "Story".
I view the history of the muppets as i would view any comic...
Muppet Babies
Ducktales
Rescue Rangers
Tiny Toons
Garfield
Peanuts Specials {remember from CBS?}
Animaniacs
Batman
Old Disney Cartoons {esp. Donald Duck}
Loony Toons
Simpsons
As i get older i keep praying they put Muppet Babies on DVD. For me to watch em again and so as i begin to...
what we gotta do is find a way to get em online. I have all the videos myself and unfortunatly {like an idiot} i threw out a marathon from nic that i taped a few years back.
Seeing how popular ducktales and real ghostbusters are on kazaa gives me reason to believe MB could fall into a similar...
Just found the site today at work... all I can say is wow, very impressive, moreso then Henson.com to be exact.
I'm a big fan of the muppets, have been ever since I was little. Hoping to do an internship at The Henson company next summer if all goes according to plan.
Just wanted to...
