Well, they haven't exactly "lost" Steve Whitmire. He still works for Sesame Street doing Ernie. We just don't see Ernie as much as we'd like. Steve Whitmire only joined Sesame Street to take over Jim's two key characters, Kermit and Ernie. His first priority is still with the Muppet Company...
Yes, Linda and Barkley certainly. Also Linda and Big Bird. Have Linda and Oscar ever interacted much? That would be interesting to see.
Also, it kind of seemed like Olivia and the Count got along great! Just the way they do that jive talk to each other sometimes, like in Follow That Bird...
When was this? I would love to read the article. It is true though. I think part of it is due to the fact that she basically grew up on the show. She practically still a kid when she began and now she is in her mid 50s. She is the Sesame Sweetheart. Everyone loves Maria. It kind of seems...
My thoughts on your thoughts:
#1 Great idea to get Ernie playing with more of the other kids on the street. I always thought Ernie and Elmo were great together
#2 Hmm...not so sure about this one. I guess it could work. I think Bear in the Big Blue House did a show about potty training...
I don't think "pompous" is the right word to describe them. However, remember that the only reason they can't use Kermit is because of the new ownership, not because they don't know how valueable he is. I am sure they do.
I just wonder why Kermit never talks anymore about his time on Sesame...
Ernie is still in some new sketches once in a while. I know that he does the show and tell segments where he talks to kids.
Well...atleast Ernie is still starring in Play with Me Sesame.
They've been together a few times, but not so much lately since the Count is rarely in a street scene this season. One of my alltime favorite scenes is between Elmo and the Count in Elmo Saves Christmas. The Count was the one that sort of put everything into perspective for Elmo.
I could not agree more! That is one of the reasons I am so drawn to her I guess. She has that same kind of warmth and spirit that all the original characters Henson created had. She can be silly and goofy, but also extremely understanding and very comforting. I guess that's a good word for...
For some odd reason (and you will probably think I am on drugs for saying this) Mokey is sort of like the more soft spoken Rosita of Fraggle Rock. They have a lot in common in their natural warmth and sweet persona.
Love the show! It was so beautifully written, wasn't it. One of my all time favorite musicals. I got to play Tevye in a musical theater class project. Of course in reality, i won't be playing that role for another 20-30 years. If I were to do an actual production of it, I would probably be...
Telly: Bryan? What are you still doing up?
Bry: (whispers) Hey, Telly. I can't really sleep so I thought I would attempt to catch up on some of these fan-fics.
Telly: Oh, okay. Goodnight. (rolls over lazily and falls back to sleep in his triangle bed)
Bry: Goodnight, Telly.
I like Ed's idea about Rowlf as the Phantom of the Opera a lot!
I also think Mrs P's idea for Chef is funny, but maybe something even more contrasting, like a Russian or a Japanese Chef (aka Iron Chef) or something like that.
It's a musical based on a book that sort of tells the backstory of the Wicked Witch and Glinda from The Wizard of Oz. I have't gotten to see it yet either. Some of the songs are good though.
I know that the question was brought up of why certain grown ups did not go on the trip and i think I came up with a theory. Susan couldn't go because of her job. She is a nurse and she couldn't just leave. Bob needed to stay back to run the store and also stay at "home base" as they say...
