I LUV THE MUPPETS - NOTES re HENSON

Yeah...unfortunately Frank Oz doesn't do much Muppeteering anymore. He's pretty much retired from it.

Muppet Central on the Cell Phone

Things aren't really that much smaller on the cell screen, you ust have to do a lot of scrolling and there are multiple pages on the cell for 1 page on a computer. It's not easy to explain. Let me put it this way...it's a lot more complicated to use MC on the cell than it is on the computer...

The Wisdom of Amy - Her glass was never empty...

That was beautiful, Beau. Thank you for posting that. What wonderful quotes to lift the spirit. I wish I could have known her because she sounds like an incredible person.

I love him too. He's just so odd. Haha! Then again...he IS a Muppet. Well would you look at this? I'm muffining my own thread!

He does things like that a lot. Like when he did "Sing After Me" with Madeline Kahn: Grover: You are looking highly attractive today. Madeline: Thank you. Grover: Thank you. Why does he repeat her "thank you"?! It's just so silly!!

Yeah, I like that part too! Especially how Grover repeats to mispronounced name. Grover was so weird in that movie. Like when they were all at Hooper's getting the game plan and Bob tells Gordon what his route is, Gordon says "You got it, Bob!" followed by Grover's "Right, Bob." I mean...

I'm sure his arm got sore once in a while. Some of those puppets are heavy.

Muppet Central on the Cell Phone

On my cell phone, I'm able to go onto the web and the other day I tried to get onto MC. It's pretty crazy. I think I may be on to something new. I haven't made a post through the phone yet, but am planning to try. Anyone else tried getting on MC by cell phone?

No, Spinney never performed on The Muppet Show with the exception of Big Bird's guest appearance. He was specifically assigned not to work outside Sesame Street.

I LUV THE MUPPETS - NOTES re HENSON

I don't think that holding up a puppet would have anything to do with what his illness was, plus it's not like he held up his arm for very long at a time anyway. How long do you suppose takes are? He can put his arm down when the cameras are off.

    Nope.

    Kermit's "Official" Birthdate?

Spinney is still performing both Big Bird and Oscar, though occassionally Matt Vogel fills in as the Bird. Vogel is training to someday take over the role completely. You can tell as there is a definite difference in vocal quality. I'm not a big fan of Vogel's performance as Big Bird.

    Kermit's "Official" Birthdate?

I was just going to mention that. In Sesame Street Unpaved, it says his birthday is on Leap Day.

Too true, too true!:D Man, I'm still bummed that there's no real Ocean View, IL.

    Kermit's "Official" Birthdate?

Well, I think that Eric Jacobson has been doing a fine job with those characters (with the exception of Cookie Monster who is now performed by David Rudman). Actually, Jacobson seems to be the most popular replacement so far.
