Um...if you go here: http://www.epixhd.com/the-secret-policemans-ball/ and scroll down a bit, there's a "Statler and Waldorf remix." You get a very, very brief clip of their appearance, and then it goes into the remix. Which seems like it could be a good conversation stopper, if used properly.
You're right! I think Segel and I must be around the same age. *checks* Yeah, he's a little younger (how depressing), but close enough. We both grew up watching TMS reruns in the 80s.
I meant the TMS era Muppets, though. So much has happened in the Muppet world since then. Of course, like...
I'm actually glad he's not planning on being in it. I love Jason forever for what he did for the Muppets, and I love the movie he made. But the next one needs to be something different. It's for the best if Gary was a one-movie character. I'm happy that he wanted to move on. I'd hate it if...
Yes, and so are "tho" and "lite" and, my personal favorite, "u" instead of "you." It's nice that a whole generation is working so hard to eliminate the evil of unnecessary letters in our language. I'm sure history will thank them for it.
Whoa! When did I turn into a curmudgeon?:boo:
Yeah. Old speaking/typing habits die hard, and anyway DVD is easier to type than blu-ray. Don't have to find the dash. Dumb name, anyway, blu-ray. Why blu? Why not blue? Is the 'e' that troublesome?
Anyway, I'm trying to think if I can get away with shipping the kids to Grandma's on the...
I love when Big Mean Carl introduces himself: "HI, I'M A . . ." Especially on the Stand By Me viral vid. "HI, I'M A BUNNY!" It's just his voice; it cracks me up. He also has an "OM NOM NOM" that rivals Cookie Monster's.
Statler and Waldorf's promo for the event:
If anyone was able to record their actual appearance and posts it on YT, I will track that person down and smooch them. Wait, I retract that. Wouldn't want to dissuade anybody. :)
:-) This is about something that happened, in . . . 2009, I think? For some reason, and we don't know the whole story but it certainly seems like it was Disney's idea, Artie Esposito performed Kermit for a couple of appearances, instead of Steve. It was America's Got Talent and...something...
Is anyone else very studiously NOT watching these yet? When I get the DVD, I want allllll of the bonus content to be brand spanking new and surprising to me. :D Heck, I'm even going to make myself watch the movie through one time (er, not that that's a chore) before I watch the bonus stuff...
Two of my favorites! I was kind of blown away when I first realized they were both handled by Dave Goelz.
Fizzgig is my favorite part of The Dark Crystal, and that's saying something.
I didn't make it, but I'm guessing the no pessimism thread started less as a jab at the skeptics and more as a reaction to the pages and pages of arguments that are infesting a whole bunch of threads right now. It gets a little irksome to get an alert about somebody replying to a thread about...
It's true. But like I mentioned, on at least one occasion when they did get together (Muppets on the Muppets), it was great. I mean, that finishing each others' sentences thing was gold. So it seems like their lack of interaction was more a writers' choice than the performers? Maybe they...
Nope, as I understand it, that was Frank. According to Muppet Wiki, those bits were filmed in the late 90s, but not released until the S2 DVDs came out. And Frank played all his characters. For confirmation, in a Tough Pigs interview with Eric (and Steve and Matt), they were talking about the...
I think it would be nice if they had a mix of people from the latest movie and more veteran Muppet talent working on the next one. Let's face it, Segel/Stoller/Bobin had more success--commercial and otherwise--than the Muppets had in many, many years. However, the nostalgia-trip angle they...
You know how they say people perceive color differently? Like, what one person thinks of when he hears "pink" might be different than what another person thinks of? Or, there's also taste. What, to me, is pleasantly savory is, to my daughter, "HOT HOT TOO HOT NEED WATER AUUUUGH!!!"
I think...
You know, I was watching The Muppets on the Muppets the other day, and I was marveling at how easy and funny Kermit and Fozzie were together. It was great. I agree that the chemistry between Steve's Kermit and Frank's characters seemed off in the movies and scripted materials, sometimes. But...
