Terry,
You're too hard on yourself. I saw Fozzie at Comic-Con and he's beautiful. Of course, when it's your work, you notice the little flaws... but that's exactly what they are... little flaws!
Keep up the absolutely amazing work! We all appreciate your magnificent efforts!
:p
This guy is amazing! e-Bay no sooner shut him down again and he's already back on with a new ID. He must be on AOL or some other service with a constantly changing IP Address so they can't track him or just ban him forever.
:p
P.S. Hey Mike!
Well, e-Bay must keep shutting him down because he keeps having to open new accounts.
As far as Disney is concerned, there are two things that may be going on. 1) They aren't bothering with him because he seems to sell so few of these that it's not worth the time or trouble to go after him...
It does look like plastic in the photos, but I thought it was foam. His teeth are definitely foam, as is the inside of Gonzo's mouth and his eyelids.
As far as changes to Animal go, as far as I understood from Travis, the version that was at the Con is the one we'll be getting. He said the...
Well, it's nice to speculate, but I can't imagine in my wildest stretch of imagination that they would sell very many of those... especially as photo puppets. Now, if they were actual hand puppets... maybe.
:p
And as far as pricing goes, ravagefrackle is exactly right. Frank Oz told me on the set of Sesame Street that each of the puppets cost $10,000. That was in 1973 dollars! I can't understand how people can expect a one-of-a-kind handmade puppet to be made cheaply. Remember the old adage, "you...
Actually, I'm a "die hard" Muppet fan and I'm not interested in Pepe. He's not a "classic" character to me. Anything that came after Jim I'm not really interested in.
:p
I have an adult sized director's chair. Right now, my replica of Paul Winchell's Knucklehead Smiff is sitting in it, but Knucklehead will have to find a new seat after Fozzie comes out. That's where he's going to sit.
:p
Well, remember, this is just Travis' wish list, as we all have our own. I wouldn't put any stock in it yet. As I said, he was just conjecturing, but if it came to pass, it would be four characters for 2009.
:p
I wanted to put his right arm on his hip, but then he wouldn't stand on his own.
I thought the same thing about the Kermit on the ledge photo... one stiff breeze and whoosh!
I did get to play with them a little bit at the Con, but I was trying not to be obnoxious about it. Somebody posted...
Okay... here's a real tease!
Travis mentioned who he'd like to make for 2009, but this hasn't been approved by anyone yet, so unless he tells me I can tell you...
I know something I won't tell, I won't tell, I won't tell... ;)
:p
He would only say "fall".
Actually, to be perfectly honest, he mentioned two months (both in the fall)... like this month or that month... but I don't want to repeat them because then people will hold Master Replicas to them and be disappointed if they miss.
:p
His eyes won't be closed. They stay in the position that you see in the pictures from Comic-Con. What they won't do is stay open wide or stay closed on their own.
:p
Here's one more interesting thing Travis told me. Animal will come in the same size box as Kermit... he'll kind of be folded up in there. I guess that's how they're able to offer free shipping.
:p
I think Gonzo is still set to be $249, but that could change depending on how much it costs them to get the nose right.
Travis mentioned a figure for Fozzie, but he was just talking off the top of his head, so I don't even want to repeat it at this point. They're a long way off from...
Hmm, he didn't mention anything about that. That is not to say that they are not changing his pants... he just didn't say anything to me. I know he said he'd like to do a collar and chain as an accessory pack, but that's just an idea at this stage. Nothing is definitely planned. He also said...
Oh, one more "by the way"... some of the pictures you see posted around the net are after dozens and dozens of people manhandled the Muppets. That's why the poses are bad. I walked in to say hello to Travis Sunday morning and it looked like Kermit had two broken fingers (not literally - they...
