Oh man...
I HAVE to check that out. Must've just put them out. I was their last Sunday, and they still had Avengers and Mr. Men stuff.
Maybe they'll come to my area when they clear that stuff out.
But this is the mainstream, cheap items I was hoping they'd come up with in time.
Just came from Amazing Spider-Man and I have to say this... while I did like the direction Sam Raimi took with the original first 2 movies, I feel that overall, this new Spider-Man film took better turns and was a stronger film overall.
I even liked Garfield's clumsier, more befuddled Peter...
The Muppets is a movie that needed the "bring the band together after a disastrous break up" angle to relaunch the franchise, even though there were still other projects. I'd liken that to the "everything was a dream" moment in Dallas that wiped out an entire season of bad decisions.
But...
Actually, I remember Amy and Dave both complaining that they had to basically make happy, smiling to the camera pictures when they did their respective comic covers...
Dave wanted to use a disgruntled or slightly annoyed Kermit here, but Disney wouldn't let them.
I recall Amy was...
There's too much lost potential in not making Grover and Elmo a team. I can't find the one where they're both singing telegrams, but something like that and Another monster at the end of this Book. Something where Grover's a bumbling older brother like figure, willing to share his flawed...
There's nothing wrong with fantasizing at all. It's just that some of us have seen too many realities to not look at a list and sigh loudly. It's not that we wouldn't want to see a Funko figure of "Background character in 'Any Old Iron' that pupil fell off of," it's just that if we wind up...
Ones starring the characters, I mean... but yeah. I thought that the Loch Ness Monster cartoon was the best part of the Pooh movie (besides the Backson, of course). It really had that classic Disney short feel of things like Casey Jones, the Reluctant Dragon... even Wind in the Willows. A...
A couple things.
Grover is on Sesame Street quite a bit now. Even has his own segment, Super Grover 2.0. The lack of Grover was attributed to the lack of Frank Oz for years, but once those roles were recast, the characters came back full force. Grover did get a Macy's parade Balloon back in...
Actually, they look more like the offspring of ugly walkaround costumes of local amusement parks and the insane drawings of a Kindergarten Mad Man kid.
This is coming from the experience of a member who's been here since 2002 or so...
I'm not being mean, but fantasizing about the 9th or 10th series of a toy line that hasn't even been released yet invites disappointment. Especially when it includes characters only die hard members want, but...
Oy Gavolt! Those are uglier than ever before.
I'd complain about 60 bucks for a toy, but the way things are going, dinky Star Wars sized action figures are going to cost that much in like 2 years.
Seriously, toy companies, dial it back a little. Then you don't have to have your entire stock...
On that subject, I wanna see Ben Stein work with the Muppets again. I mean, really... he busts me up everytime he's on a cartoon series, be it Animaniacs, Jimmy Neutron, or Fairly Oddparents. Too bad all he did with the Muppets was be the "sad old man that science left" Bunsen.
For the sake of cheap, though, it would be a safer bet to go with one of the puppets they already built. Like I've said, the one reason Henson is pushing to get the movie is so they can use a large portion of the budget to rebuild the characters.
My sister saw the film and found actual evidence that she in deed isn't. Apparently, she checks out the really buff, giant guy that she thought was the third guy's son (before it was revealed to be Napoleon Dynamite).
It's probably a goofy concept of her being a lesbian, but you know those...
Intended or unintended pun.
By no means did that show make any sense on any level. I don't even see how they could have sold the concept. I guess they just said "British Barney" and they saw dollar signs. All I can remember is that the 2 Bananas acted like idiots and there was a Rat and...
Cute things don't have to be furry. Look at human babies.
Furry things don't have to be cute. Look at tarantulas.
Still, getting back on this toyline. There's a small resurgence of 1990's things, but it's far too early for them to come back in full force. And quite honestly, when 1980's...
Bananas in Pajamas, eh?
As stupid as that show seems, I think the problem was it was all a bunch of cultural gags thrown together that just didn't make any sense stateside. It's like that Monty Python skit no one ever recites or references because no one can make heads or tails of it to...
Audience participation, Rocky Horror Picture Show aside, doesn't work in film. Singing along to onscreen lyrics is fun (I guess), but having Elmo ask for help those times he did in the film... really takes you out of the moment. There's nothing wrong with Kermit or someone pointing out we're...
Something about that sentence doesn't sound right. :D
If there's one thing they need to consider about this movie, it's going back, watching EIG, and pointing out what went wrong with the writing and direction the film took. Just to see where the characters could have fit in, and how things...
There was a Robotnik, but it was well over what I had on me at the time, and it was only half his body, hanging out a window (same episode, later scene). I was also looking at TMNT ones, but they had none of them that were good characters and good poses. They did have one of Raph just walking...
