    Am I the only one?

Oh yeah, because if they didn't pause, the audience wouldn't hear the rest of the dialogue. In the movie Some Like it Hot, they had to reshoot a scene to include pauses, to give the audience time to laugh and then hear the next set up. Of course, it can be awkward if they wait with the pause...

    Eric Jacobson vs. Frank Oz?

I agree, I've always thought a big problem with the "modern" Muppet films is that they're done "Muppets by Number." Various random personality traits, there's no real character there. That's the writing.

Top 5 people you'd like to meet in heaven

That's a good point we should have said the reason why. :) George Harrison was a master guitarist and had a great sense of humor. I'd identified most with him though because he was considered "the quiet one." He's always been under rated, he was the first to speak against the Vietnam War...

    Muppet Easter Cards @ Target

Oh man, we're selling Easter cards already?! We've barely put up the St. Patrick's Day stuff yet! lol So far I really like these, an improvment over the Muppet birthday cards I've seen. Though they did use the "poser" Kermit, as TP would say, hehe, and I agree he's lacking something. But...

    Am I the only one?

All I know is if you remove the laugh track from most shows...well...you probably won't hear yourself laughing!

    Eric Jacobson vs. Frank Oz?

To a certain extent it's unfair to judge the "recast performers", as we aren't seeing them create their own characters. Instead they're having to copy a previous performer's work. (This understanding comes from years of Soap Opera watching!)

    Who was your favorite vocalist?

I loved Lena Horn's appearance. Wonderful voice and an interesting mixture of edge and sweetness. I love the way she says, "You're great, Gonzo!" And her Sesame Street appearance with Grover was cute too and a very important message about being shy.

    The RHLC!

Another story is Everyone Makes Mistakes. Big Bird accidently walks into Susan's clothes line, ruining all the clothes. He confides in Little Bird, who suggests he tell the truth. Instead, Big Bird keeps coming up with all these lies to tell Susan instead. But when he finally tries saying them...

    The RHLC!

Yeah, it seems that Richard enjoyed every opportunity to perform, particularly any Muppet characters. It is pretty rare to find a job where you keep wanting more.

    The RHLC!

What amazes me is the effort the performers always made. Fran Brill, Carroll Spinney, Richard and Frank Oz all (and a few others) all participated in these videos. They were already working on all these other full time shows, and certainly Frank was particularly busy, but they still found time...

    The RHLC!

Yeah, I figured the fact that it was Amazon meant it was more reliable than some. IMDB posted some memorable quotes from the Super Grover story. This REALLY takes me back: Narrator: He zooms through the sky, smarter than a speeding bullet, furrier than a power locomotive, able to leap tall...

    Eric Jacobson vs. Frank Oz?

True, while IAVMMC was far from perfect, Fozzie's character was pretty true to form.

Thanks, Skye! I've never ordered anything that way before so I was a little nervous. But I figured you have to take a chance sometimes!

Well nevermind Scooter, where did Skeeter get her name?! I mean that's not even a word! (Or is it? ::shrugs: ) lol I used to have the Eight Sesame Street stories on tape years ago. I don't know what happened to them (hopefully they were given to charity!). They were cute short stories...

    Eric Jacobson vs. Frank Oz?

I think the overall dumbing down is more about the writing than the performer. Of course, Frank Oz is the best, but Eric is fine for me.

    The RHLC!

I really hope this works out. I went on Amazon.com today and ordered two old VHS tapes from well reviewed third parties, but through Amazon. The items are Eight Sesame Street Stories (said to be narrated by Richard Hunt) and Children's Songs and Stories with the Muppets (hosted by Scooter). The...

    Eric Jacobson vs. Frank Oz?

I think Eric's Guy Smiley sounded fine. Not a lot like Jim's, but enough to make it acceptable. As long as they capture the personalities, I don't mind if the voices themselves are off.

The Jim Lewis Interview Posted on this Thread

Very well done! That's awesome that he contributed to "Hey, You're as Funny as Fozzie Bear!", I used to rent that when I was a kid. Same with "Frosty Returns" and "Miss Piggy's Hollywood," he's got a very impressive resume. And he sounds like he's been a major fan for many years. :)

    Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood

Mr. Rogers' was wonderful, the perfect compliment to the craziness of Sesame Street. People will forever connect the two (i.e. Chevy Chase quoting him in Follow That Bird). Mr. Rogers' never changed, never lost its quality. He seemed to genuniely care about his audience and want them to be...
